Noah stopped dead in his tracks the moment the threat left Caleb's mouth.
He felt a wave of cold fury wash over him, his heart pounding against his ribs. He slowly turned around, his eyes narrowed as he glared at Caleb with everything he had.
The air between them was thick with tension. Noah had been pushed to his limit today, and this felt like a final insult. He looked at the taller man, refusing to let his voice shake.
"Are you threatening me?" Noah asked, his voice coming out low and sharp.
Caleb didn't even blink. He just gave a small shrug, looking completely indifferent to Noah's anger. "You can interpret it anyhow you like," Caleb replied. His voice was flat, like he was talking about the weather instead of someone's life.
