Inside U.A all the participants and their recommenders were seated in a large auditorium. Kagami and his grandparents were seated near the end. Kagami looked as if he had lost his soul while his grandparents remained perfectly calm and unbothered.
On the stage the teachers of U.A all walked in followed by what seemed to be a large bipedal white mouse wearing a black suit. The teachers all stood in a line behind the mouse as it addressed the crowd.
"Good morning to everyone in attendance. For those who do not know me I am the principal of U.A highschool, Nezu." So do people looked confused while other simply kept quite, "If you all don't mind I'd like to introduce the teachers that will be joining me in this exam today."
Kagami finally snapped out of it, focusing on Nezu's words, "So that's the famous Nezu I've heard so much about."
"Yep good ol' Nezu I haven't seen him in a while now, wander what the little basterds up to this time." Tsuyoshi grinned while Yuri was slightly unsettled, "I don't want to know anything he plans."
"Ah! That's right I almost forgot you and him don't really get along," Yuri ignored Tsuyoshi and just focused on what was being said.
"Now that introductions are out of the way, let's get straight into the exam schedule." The projector turned on projecting a the U.A symbol before showing a schedule for the recommendation fr.
"The written portion of the exam will begin thirty minutes from now and will last three hours in total." The schedule changed to show a diagram of an obstacle course, "This will be the physical portion of exam. Students will be separated into groups of five and will be given ten minutes to complete the course."
There were murmures in the crowd which mostly came from the students, "In the physical portion students are allowed to use their abilities to slow or stop other competitors however harming other students is strictly forbidden."
Nezu concluded his speech then left the room directing all the adults follow him into the waiting area while the students folks the teachers xxxinto the exam rooms.
Once there students were given stationery and stared their exams. In the waiting room the adults were socialising. Tsuyoshi can towards Endeavour who was by himself as if he were an old friend.
"Enji my boy it's good to see you in good shape!" He pat Endeavour on the back so hard he would have fallen if he was not prepared for it, "Sensei Itsuro what are you doing here?" Endeavour looked at Tsuyoshi with gritted teeth and an annoyed expression.
"I'm just here to watch my grandson, I assume you're here for your son?" Tsuyoshi put his arm around Endeavour's head the two of them equally as tall and imposing but polar opposites in their moods.
"Yes, my Shoto will succeed no matter what." Endeavour didn't try to struggle out of Tsuyoshi's grasp having experienced the futility in that years ago in his youth, "Man, are you still stuck on that surpassing All Might thing of yours? I've told you to let that go, boy."
"No I have given up on surpassing him myself." Tsuyoshi breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh, thank God. I thought you'd never move on from tha-"
"I have given up on surpassing him myself so my Shoto will be the one to finally surpass him." Tsuyoshi slouched as he took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Boy, I've tried to reason with you and understand you for years. I've tried to tell you that this one-sided rivalry of yours will eat away at you till you nothing but a miserable old man."
"I might be stupid but this is beyond even me. For once think of anything else." Tsuyoshi;et him go walking away grumbling something about heating up Endeavour to a pulp and knocking sense into him.
On the other end of the room Yuri was having a conversation with the Yaoyorozu family.
Three hours passed and the written exam was over. Students were told to hear to the changing rooms to put on their clothes. I the boy's changing room students were changing and introducing each other. Kagami was quietly changing ignoring everyone around him before he received a tap on the back while he was tieing his hair into a ponytail.
He turned around to see a boy in a green military shirt and cargo pants. The boy was almost as built as his grandfather and had the same stupid grin. Kagami looked him up and down, "What is it?"
"Your Hoshino Kagami right?" Everyone around them stopped what they were doing to stare at the situation, "You do you want to know?"
"Ishimatsu Alberto a and you are my enemy!" Kagami was caught between punching the guy or ignoring him but he chose to stay, "May I ask why?"
"Your the grandson of Sentinel himself, one of the greatest heroes of all time besides All Might. You have the blood of a great hero running through your veins and I aim to test your strength and will." He slammed his fist into his palm showing off the scars on his knuckles.
"Okay...I guess?" Ishimatsu walked away grinning ear to ear. Everyone else was looking at him with confusion. Kagami had a bad feeling about this day and his suspicions were confirmed when he heard a familiar voice call for him, "Well, well, well, It it isn't Hoshino my dear old friend."
Kagami turned around again and saw the one face he didn't want to see again, infront of him stood a boy with pink hair and gray eyes, "It's surprising really I thought you crawled into a hole and died from humiliation."
"And I thought you would have finally grown a few brain cells but looks like we both didn't get what we wanted." Kagami glared at the boy, "What do you want Shounosuke?"
"Can't I just say hi to an old classmate." Kagami rolled his eyes, packing his clothes into his backpack and walked away, 'How dare that snake show his face again!' Kagami clenched his fist his eyes briefly turning red before he was told to go to the testing area.
After a few minutes the students were all in the testing area and the groups had been decided. Kagami was grouped with a two other boys and two girls. He didn't see anything worth noting about them so he turned his attention to the other groups.
Todoroki Shoto was in the second group. Kagami looked at his aura, it showed purple and red with blue and black. 'His aura is really weird one side of his body barley has any aura while the other is overflowing with it. I wonder if this has anything to do with the nature of his quirk.'
Looking at the rest of Todoroki's group none of them were worth mentioning except one. His aura was white, yellow and orange aura with a bit of red, black, and blue. 'I think his name is Yoarashi Inasa, his aura is massive it might be the biggest aura in the room, besides grandfather."
'I don't know much about him but he seems really interesting.' Moving away from them he looked at the third group which had Yaoyorozu and Ishimatsu.
'Yaoyorozu's aura is pink which is to be expected with her quirk, it's also blue and green. Given what I know if her abilities then she should have no trouble passing. Next is that guy from the locker rooms Ishimatsu his aura his aura is orange and red with yellow and black. I don't know anything about him but he seems capable enough, despite his weird declaration of rivalry.'
Kagami spent his preparation time looking at the others. To the rest of his group it came off as if they were not worth his time. He knew this but did not seek to deny it as he truly did think that they would not pass this exam especially when he was their opponent.
The obstacle courses was about to begin and Kagami's group was first. He sighed looking at his group stretching and preparing while he calmly stood there adding more insult to them.
With the adults they all commented at his blatant disregard for the others in his group, they thought he was too overconfident in an exam with other exceptional students. Yuri shook her head in annoyance at the trouble he was causing, knowing full well that it was done on purpose.
Tsuyoshi on the other hand only served to further their aggravation by cheering him on. Even some of the teachers were commenting on it.
"Man that kid is cocky hope he's not a sore loser because he just painted a huge target on his head," Present Mic said to Erasure Head and Midnight.
"Right? It's almost as if he wants the extra challenge with the way he's so unbothered," Midnight looked at the Kagami with curiosity, "Maybe there's a special someone he's trying to impress by acting cool?"
"No." Erasurehead cut through the air with his glare directed at Kagami, "It's not that. He just knows he'll win no matter what he does so he might as well make a show out of it."
Present Mic and Midnight turned to each other and shrugged not know what he was talking about.
The race was set to begin in any minute as Present Mic stepped up, "All right kids are ya ready!" He was greeted by silence, "Awesome!"
"Now on.my count you can go, three, two, one," He took a deep breath and released a loud scream, "GOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
And so began the first obstacle race.
