"You want to tell me what is going on with you two?" Avira asked looking from Dylan to me in confusion while we avoided her gaze.
I let my eyes wander around Avira's new bedroom which was better than the previous one in every respect. I focused on the stand in the far end of the room where her crown was placed.
"Nothing," we replied rather too quickly, and at the same time. Avira's confusion only deepened.
Since Dylan caught me in Nanisca's bedroom last night, we had grown distant from each other. We could not even bear to look each other in the eye.
I understood mine was out of shame and guilt, but Dylan had nothing to be ashamed of, or to feel guilty about. Why then does he look at me with guilt-filled eyes? Or did I feel so guilty that I am able to see it in other people's eyes even when it was absent?
