Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: shadow of Blossom

The wind crawled slowly across the ruined valley, carrying with it the scent of smoke, dust… and something heavier—loss. A nineteen-year-old girl knelt amid the devastation, her knees pressing against cracked earth still warm from the recent destruction. Around her, mountains lay split open as if struck by a god's fist, and cherry blossom trees, once delicate and pink, were now blackened, twisted sticks clawing at the sky.

Tears streaked Hiyori's face, cutting pale lines through the dust. Her voice trembled as she screamed,

"Stop it… stop it! Are you really going to kill each other?"

Her hands shook, palms open, as if sheer desperation could halt the violence. But her plea dissolved into the wreckage around her.

The two young men she cared for were locked in a deadly clash. Swords collided with sparks scattering like dying stars. Shadows leapt across the broken ground, merging and tearing apart again. Rage burned in their eyes—a rage that did not belong to them.

"Please…" she whispered, breath shaking. "Please stop…"

But no one listened.

One boy lunged with a final strike—but froze in mid-motion, as if time itself hesitated. Then, in a horrifying instant, he twisted his grip and drove his sword straight into the other's chest.

Black-purple lightning burst from the blade, cracking through the air like thunder. The unnatural glow illuminated every ruined stone, every lifeless tree, every tear on Hiyori's face.

The boy struck looked down at the blade embedded in his chest, eyes dulling. He collapsed silently.

Hiyori's eyes widened in shock. She pushed herself forward, rushing to him.

"Hey… big brother! Say something!"

His eyelids fluttered, and a faint smile touched his lips.

"Listen, Hiyori… even if I die… I'll always be with you."

Her face filled with tears as she turned to the boy who had stabbed him.

"Why… why… why did you do this?"

Katakuri's expression was cold, but calm.

"I needed peace… your brother made destruction in this world."

Hiyori shook her head, tears falling freely.

"He never did that!"

Katakuri's gaze hardened.

"It was hard for me to trust… but it's real. Your brother…"

Hiyori pressed closer to her fallen brother.

"Don't lie! I've always believed in you. And you, Katakuri—leave. Now!"

Katakuri's eyes narrowed, but he nodded.

"Fine. I'll leave… but when you understand, I will come back to speak to you."

"I don't need your words anymore!" she shouted, fury and grief burning in her voice.

He turned and walked away. Hiyori's brother whispered weakly, "Stop… Katakuri… stop…"

Rain began to fall, cold and

Katakuri leave and Asta say to hiyori stay strong and die suddenly heavy rain fall. Hiyori's tears mixed with it, streaming down her face as she screamed aloud,

"ASTA!"

Her chest tightened. Panic clawed at her lungs. The world seemed to tilt and twist as darkness crept at the edges of her vision.

And then—the scene faded.

Seven years later.

Sunlight spilled gently into Hiyori's grand bedroom, warm but never reaching the chill in her heart. Golden rays stretched across polished floors, elegant furniture, and silk sheets draped loosely around her. The room looked fit for royalty—perfect, quiet, calm.

Her messy hair half-covered her face, ruining the picture—but she didn't care.

A sudden vibration pulled her attention. She blinked at her phone. A message from Asta flashed across the screen: "Come immediately."

Hiyori's brow furrowed. What could that old man want now? She let out a long breath and got ready, dragging herself out of bed.

The drive to the mansion passed in quiet. Hiyori sat in the back seat, watching the city blur past. Towering buildings reflected the afternoon sun like polished mirrors. People hurried along the sidewalks, unaware of the storm brewing in her chest.

Her reflection stared back at her in the window—older, calmer, but carrying the same eyes that had once watched a world crumble.

"Miss Hiyori… are you alright?" the driver asked.

A tear slid unbidden down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly.

"Yeah… just remembering something."

"The past hurts only if we let it. Look outside… the day is beautiful."

Hiyori forced a small smile. "Yeah… it is."

The car stopped before a massive mansion, gates tall and imposing, trees casting long shadows. Hiyori stepped out, a chill running across her skin. She climbed the stairs and pushed open the heavy door.

Sunlight poured into the bright room, illuminating three figures.

Sensei stood with hands clasped behind his back, staring out the window.

Elsiya leaned against a wall, arms crossed, her gaze sharp and unreadable.

Raihtasu lounged on a sofa, half-bored, half-annoyed.

"Finally," Elsiya said without looking at her. "You're late."

"I was sleeping," Hiyori yawned.

Raihtasu smirked. "Obviously."

Sensei turned, silencing them with a single glance.

"Enough. I didn't call you here to argue."

The room fell silent.

"I called you because someone important has been captured by Black Fang."

Raihtasu straightened immediately. "Captured?"

Sensei opened a drawer, pulling out a thin folder. "You three will rescue him. All information is inside."

Hiyori stepped closer. The air thickened, heavy with urgency. The mission carried weight none of them could ignore.

"Yes, Sensei," they said in unison.

"Good. Now go."

The door closed behind them, leaving only the echo of their footsteps—and the beginning of something far larger than any of them yet understood.
