Eloise's gaze faltered. "I went to the Chairman's estate to see if he's back, but I was told he hasn't returned from his rehabilitation yet."
Selina's expression soured slightly, worry seeping through her calm façade. "I need to meet him quickly and get everything settled once and for all. When will he be back?" she murmured, voice edged with quiet desperation.
"No one knows," Eloise admitted.
Selina's shoulders sagged, the weight of her situation pressing more than before.
She had to wait a little longer in this suffocating house!
"Selina," Eloise said hesitantly, "I was wondering if you'd want me to come with you once you move out."
Selina parted her lips to answer, but Eloise quickly added, "You shouldn't worry about Master's reaction. It's not like my life is bound to serve him alone. And maybe… he'd even like the idea later if I went with you."
