Once work hours were over, Selina picked up her bag, swinging it across her arm while her gaze stayed fixed on Clarissa through the large, transparent glass panel that separated their office spaces like an invisible wall.
Watching her sister redo her makeup with a compact in hand, Selina could tell Clarissa was preparing to leave the company as well.
Enough is enough, Selina thought darkly.
She needed to draw a boundary here—or she'd end up being Clarissa's miserable errand girl. Worse, she could risk her baby's well-being through needless stress.
As soon as Clarissa rose from her seat, Selina quietly followed, unaware that her sister hadn't yet noticed.
When Clarissa reached the elevator, she slipped in among seven other staff and stood firmly at the front. But just before the doors closed, a hand slipped through the narrowing gap.
