Walking down the busy hallway, Selina noticed the faint redness on her arms from Zane's grip. She rubbed her skin gently, trying to ease the subtle marks since they didn't hurt.
"I wouldn't be this upset if he hadn't been so persistent. How dare he want to share a bedroom after ignoring me for three years?" she muttered, frustration simmering.
"Forget it, Selina. Focus on your first day at work," she told herself, trying to push the incident from her mind.
She looked away from her arm and continued toward the elevator, her modest appearance exuding understated luxury. A thrill ran through her at the thought of finally working in a corporate environment and sharing her creative ideas.
As Selina approached the elevator, she stopped abruptly at a maintenance sign blocking the way.
"Maintenance? It was fine yesterday," she muttered, narrowing her eyes.
And then, someone caught her attention from the corner of her eyes.
"Excuse me," Selina called out.
