Il Ji looked to his left. He looked to his right. He looked at the Butterfly. He looked away from the Butterfly. Nothing happened.
It just kept laying eggs.
After the 59th set of eggs, it seemed to grow a little bit more exhausted. Then, it went on to the next batch.
Il Ji thought about what had just happened. Although the butterfly was extremely powerful, it didn't seem to notice him, or react to him in any way.
After a few minuts of watching the butterfly and testing his boundaries, Il Ji was busy scanning the eggs with the gun while keeping an eye on the Butterfly. It didn't seem to mind.
When Mr. Addlesby had stepped on an egg clutch earlier, it hadn't even seemed to mind then, so he could somewhat safely assume he was okay before he tried.
It seemed that no matter what he did, the Butterfly seemed oblivious to him.
But just then, it flew into the center of sky above the hill and vanished in a flash of light. Il Ji stumbled backwards a few steps, expecting an attack at any moment. Luckily, none came.
"What?" Il Ji began looking around him for signs of the butterfly. He continued scanning with the gun, looking for further signs of anomaly.
"Someone didn't do something they shouldn't have… Did they?"
He continued scanning around. After scanning the sky failed, he began combing the ground itself.
He passed over the edges of the area first, making sure to avoid all of the eggs on the ground.
Soon, though, he realized: he'd have to face his fears and scan the center of the hill.
He continued scanning, and then he found it. There were two eggs sitting in the center of the hill. They each showed the same readout on the gun.

After saying this, Il Ji immediately sent a contract from the first Beast Tamer soul slot on his second star to the egg that was more directly in the center of the hill.
He wasn't strong enough yet to copy Jackpot's mark- so, he used a more common contract mark that he had found in the database. The most important thing was that he make the contract. With such a beast…
Feeling the soul slot fill up, he was ecstatic. He immediately open himself to his Soul Space.
There, in the center, lay the three stars that represented his Tamer Talents.
He checked his first Beast Tamer star. It was near the peak of [Copper], but still needed a little bit extra before it became [Iron].
The second star was much less bright than the other. Attached to the soul link was his new beast.

He wasn't sure… But it seemed as if the eggs had smiled.
