Synopsis
This book is much more aligned with the principles I live by than the other webnovels I have written. This is a book about Il Ji, who takes care of his sweet sister. Given a great opportunity to mimic beasts and steal their skills, he moves his sister into a position of power, places himself in authority, and with a heart of gold, never backs down. All while chasing the girl he's loved since the minute he crossed over. No Harem. Disclaimers: - This book will be released in a series of 'shadow drops' as it will be purely my joy to do so. - MC does NOT have a “Copy Cat,” the pets are much more original. - Chapters are currently set at 700 Words. Tags: Kingdom Building, Beast Taming, Single Love Interest, Shapeshifting, and more.

Chapter 1 - 01 Escape Artist of the Otaku Supremacy

In the country of Korea on the Planet Earth, Milky Way, December 31st, 2025, Il Chang closed out yet another window on his phone.

"Dammit!" He shouted. "Stop asking me for the thing I want most! I know you're faking it, and trying to prompt me into downloading a virus and take over my computer, you stupid evil son of a butt… hole!"

In the tab he had just opened, another prompt appeared. "Would you like to travel to another world?"

It sat on the screen for several minutes. Il Chang sat in his seat, leaning against his desk as he continued to loudly sob.

"Yes! Of COURSE I want to…"

At this, a giant triple-decker bus crashed through the wall of his small, one-room apartment, crushing his body and spinning against the parts that were left over.

A leader amongst his colleagues in the Otaku Supremacy, Il Chang was dead. So, very, very, very dead.

…With nary a thought to what had just happened, Il Chang's spirit escaped through his open window- to traverse across worlds- along a path that had never once before entered his eyes- but that he had always traveled in his heart.

In another universe, the Planet Urath of the Central Galaxy was facing a tough time.

The world was extremely similar- in fact, near identical- to that of Earth. However, things began to differ after the second world war. In the year 1950, the world was taken over by the Freedom Alliance.

Led by a capitalist country, and formed as a meritocratic union of states, it took the best of socialism and capitalism and fused them together.

The alliance soon gathered all of the world of Urath and dissembled the pinnacle of Urath's technology to every corner of the world.

With a united language, currency, technology, and people, the threat of war was insignificant. With 24/7 surveillance, properly upkept and morally balanced judges, free healthcare, free housing, free food, and the dissassembling of all warlike things, the world turned to prosperity.

But then, the unthinkable happened.

Calamity struck.

A giant meteor entered Earth's atmosphere. It crashed into the Earth and wiped out two thirds of the existing population.

Destroying nearly all the cities in its path, the once-great civilization was nearly destroyed. However, something changed.

After the meteor landed, a wave of golden aura spread around the world. This caused a sort of shield to appear around the earth- a forcefield of perpetual blue.

That was not all, however. The golden wave affected many of Urath's beasts. They grew more intelligent, and more fierce. As their bodies became robust, they turned on their owners.

Further chaos ensued in the parts of the world still standing.

But it was not long before mankind once again tamed the world. As the spirits of the world once again grew in power, the buried role of beast tamers rose to provenance.

Taming beasts of land, sea and sky; the spirits of both ancient and modern weapons, armor, and tools; trees and plants of the many forests; mushrooms and insects of the caverns and caves; and the newly born elementals, they grew and grew until they were at the world's pinnacle.

As humanity continued to grow, the world around them changed. The giant crater that the asteroid had hit lay home to many fire beasts- a giant forbidden area spanning an entire third of the globe.

The ocean was off-limits.

Giant walls surrounded the few cities that remained of a once great empire.

The areas around them were surveyed and modified by city military. Once an area was secure, the city's military would fortify them into 'containment zones.'

These containment zones held beasts at or below the containment zones' ranking, corresponding to various attributes and attainments.

Once a beast tamer's spirit power had risen above that of the beast, and he had an open soul slot, he was eligible to tame it.

Luckily, as a general rule, humanity held superior spirit power to all beasts of the same rank.

As such, these 'containment zones' were left for low-level tamers to find their beasts.

By sending a contract symbol via a thread of spirit into their 'beast core' the young tamers were able to quickly contract their beasts.

By the year 2099, Humanity had bounded back. In the wake of destruction, many technologies that had been lost were back in hand. However, several makeshift kingdoms, federations, alliances, and empires had covered the newly formed Planet Urath.

The world was in war. As the great World War III abounded, the citizens shrunk in fear. Luckily, a peace accord came through seven years later.

In the year 2130, a twenty-year old man looked down as he sent his sister off to school.

"Laila, it's time."

"Thanks, brother! Don't forget to feed my cat!"

"Don't worry, I'll be sure to feed Stormcloud!"

'What is this?' Il Ji thought to himself. 'I always feed Stormcloud, is she my mother?'

As the nine-year-old girl carried her schoolbag to the bus, Il Ji smiled. When their parents died, he had become her guardian, and maintained her upbringing as his highest motive.

While his life wasn't the best in name, and not glamorous by any means, the appreciation he felt after a day's work always filled his empty heart.

Waving his sister goodbye to her elementary school, he walked back inside his shop. With an apartment on the upper floor, he was indeed indebted to his parents.

When they had died, leaving he and Laila as orphans, they had left him with enough money to pay off the shop, all of its debts, and create a savings fund to maintain his weekly bills and property taxes. There was also a little bit left over.

He had used the extra money to upgrade the shop. With solar panels, the filter on his well, the ever-growing bamboo shoots, his five ant queens, and the chickens in the back, he was fully sustainable.

Additionally, he was able to produce enough of a variety in feed that several returning customers continued to use his shop.

However, against the many beast supply shops of the world he was unable to maintain a lead. After scrimping everywhere else, he had enough funds to make a, well- decent living for his sister. With what he had left over, he saved towards her future first beast.

He wished to become a beast master himself, but that path was hidden from him.

Ever since he had transmigrated, he had been unable to awaken. At first, he had even wished to become a Creation Master. But as time went on, he was shown again and again that he was unable to pursue his chosen path- let alone the path of beast mastery that 90% of the population had chosen to pursue.

As such, his soul space remained empty, his beasts missing, his golden finger struck from the record, and his body unchanged by the spiritual energy surrounding this new world.

But he was not alone. With the advent of his transmigration, his most important desire had been fulfilled. By being given family, and the chance to take care of another, he was finally happy- in the truest sense of the word.
