Half an hour before the elite squad of the House of Evolution targeted Setsuka, around the edge of the border surrounding City Z's ghost town
'Man I really wish I could join Frog Man and the rest of the gang right now. But no, all I get to do is make sure that nobody's tailing us while the rest of them get to do the mission. And the boss always picks me as the lookout.' a figure atop the roof of one of the abandoned buildings that could be found in the area.
The mysterious figure was a short humanoid rat with dark gray fur covering its entire body along with a part of its left ear having a hole on it. It was wearing sweatpants and a green pair of worn jeans and an oversized brown t-shirt. It also had a masculine appearance.
'Oh well, I'll just have to convince the boss that I'm a capable fighter some other time.' the humanoid rat thought to himself as he continued to observe the environment around him.
"I must say, you are the largest rodent that I have ever encountered in my life." the rat mutant suddenly heard a feminine voice coming from behind him.
And in his line of sight was Vacuum Woman, who was wearing an orange summer dress along with a straw hat adorning the top of her head and a pair of sandals.
"Huh? Who are you supposed to be you little shrimp?" the rat mutant rudely asked Vacuum Woman the moment that he saw her.
"Do I look like sea food to you, you filthy vermin?" Vacuum Woman yelled at the monster she was standing in front as she glared at him.
"I'm not just some random vermin you damn loli!" the rat mutant retorted in an offended tone as he prepared to attack her right then and there.
"What else am I supposed to call a creature like you?!" Vacuum Woman yelled back at him with a look of extreme annoyance.
"You know what? Forget it! I'm just going to attack you right here and now!" the rat mutant shouted out as he lunged towards Vacuum Woman's location.
"Rabid Claw Flurry!" the rat mutant yelled as he began to rapidly swipe his claws towards his new target.
Unfortunately for him, Vacuum Woman was able to weave through every single swipe that he sent her way before grabbing the mutant's throat.
"And who are you supposed to be, trash vermin?" Vacuum Woman inquired of the rat monster while the rat mutant was still struggling to free his throat from her grip.
"I am the Rat Overlord! You were lucky that my attacks did not land on you, or you would have been shredded to a million pieces!" the humanoid rat mutant arrogantly introduced himself to the pink monster.
"Ha! Do you actually believe that your weak attacks would be able to actually hurt me you foolish monster?" Vacuum Woman asked Rat Overlord, as her grip on his throat increased once more.
"Of course I do! I just happened to be in a bad mood right now, so I am serious when I say that you got lucky today, damn loli." Rat Overlord bluffed the tiny monster.
'Does he have to deny that he's been outclassed so badly?' Vacuum Woman thought to herself while looking at the rat mutant in her grip with an annoyed expression on her face.
"Whatever. I'm just going to have to go after the ones that you work for." Vacuum Woman told the rat mutant as she began to look at him in an intimidating manner.
"Huh? What makes you think that I work for- Ack!" Rat Overlord tried to shrug off Vacuum Woman's threat before he felt the grip on his throat tightening once more.
"Do not interrupt me while I am speaking you blasted vermin." Vacuum Woman coldly told the rat mutant with a low and menacing voice.
"Agh, please have mercy on me! I promise that I'll tell you everything!" Rat Overlord pleaded for his life once he finally accepted that Vacuum Woman would kill him then and there.
"Well then, you'd better give me some answers before I strangle you to death." Vacuum Woman said before loosening her grip on Rat Overlord's throat.
"Ok, ok! I'll tell you where my boss-"
*Splat!*
But before Rat Overlord could even tell Vacuum Woman where his boss could be found, his head exploded into many tiny pieces, which resulted in Vacuum Woman head being covered in the Rat Overlord's brain matter and blood.
"Huh, that's definitely inconvenient for me. It looks like his boss took precautions for such a scenario. Whatever, I'll just have to forget about the boss for now and wash away the blood from my face and my new dress." Vacuum Woman thought to herself as she resumed her flight back to Setsuka's apartment.
Near Setsuka's apartment, a few minutes before Setsuka and Ginka departed for the base of Opereations of the House of Evolution
"What's taking you so long? I don't care about your master's past, so get to the point already!" Setsuka yelled at Armored Gorilla.
"Setsuka is a busy woman. So I would advise you to shorten your sentence or face the consequences." Ginka threatened the cybernetic gorilla while still aiming her weaponized right hand straight at the mutant's face.
'What makes you think that's the case?' Sanju questioned the validity of Ginka's statement while looking at her with a puzzled expression on her face.
"In other words, my boss has become passionately curious about your body." Armored Gorilla answered Setsuka's question after thinking about it for a brief moment.
"Too bad for him, because I don't like men like that. Now just tell us where your base is." Setsuka clarified her lack of interest in the cybernetic gorilla's master.
"I don't think that's what he meant Setsuka." Sanju corrected her roommate's wrong assumption.
"I must agree with what your roommate has said. Your body surpasses normal human limitations, so he plans to conduct researches using your body as a sample." Ginka explained the intentions of Armored Gorilla's boss the moment she finished receiving and processing the data from the large gorilla cyborg.
"Seriously? That's even worse. I guess we'll just have to deal with them. It looks like they'll keep sending more people over here unless we do something about it." Setsuka decided as she began to walk away from Armored Gorilla.
"Yes, that would be the…Wait, you mean right now?" Ginka exclaimed in shock when she noticed that Setsuka had begun walking away towards the direction that .
"Yeah, there's a sale at my local grocery store that I don't wanna miss tomorrow, so now's the time to take care of these guys." Setsuka responded to Ginka's question as she waved a pamphlet with an ad for the sale she was talking about while she continued to walk away.
"Very well then, I shall follow you! Please allow me to lead the way!" Ginka shouted out in as much excitement as she could muster before she went ahead and began following the bald woman whom she wished to learn more about.
"Sure, whatever. Hey Sanju, would you like to join us now?" Setsuka asked her roommate.
"I think I'll stay here and keep an eye on our uninvited guests." Sanju made her decision as she sat in front of Slugerous, Frog Man and Armored Gorilla while she began to look at all of them with wary eyes.
"Suit yourself." Setsuka said before she started to run towards the base of their uninvited guests with Ginka following her as well.
'Damn, now how am I supposed to warn the boss-'
"Hey big guy, I assume that your boss would want a report from you right about now. So go ahead and do that if you want, but I can guarantee you that it will all be pointless to do that seeing as your boss will have to go up against Setsuka." Sanju told the cybernetic gorilla without any hesitation.
"Huh? You actually want me to warn my boss about your friend?" Armored Gorilla asked with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Yep. Not like your boss will be able to actually end up being successful against her." Sanju told Armored Gorilla while looking at him with the smuggest face that she could give him.
"Alright then." Armored Gorilla declared before opening the top half of his head and revealing a satellite coming out of his head.
'Oh, that sure is an interesting feature to have inside his head' Sanju thought to herself as she watched the small satellite dish that was rotating from within Armored Gorilla's head.
"Are you done yet?" Sanju asked Armored Gorilla once he closed his head.
"Yes, the boss is now aware of the outcome of our mission." Armored Gorilla told Sanju with a monotone voice.
"Good, good. Now I'd like to know about the rest of your allies and where they can be located. If you don't say anything then I'm going to send your dead body to your boss. Understand?" Sanju threatened Armored Gorilla while giving him a stern look.
*Thud!*
But before Armored Gorilla even began to tell Sanju about his boss, Vacuum Woman, who had now cleaned herself of the Rat Overlord's brain matter, landed right next to the slime monster.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Vacuum Woman asked the cybernetic gorilla while raising her eyebrows at him.
"This here is Armored Gorilla. He was about to tell me more about his boss, who sent a bunch of his minions to kidnap Setsuka for his sick experimentations." Sanju told Vacuum Woman.
"Oh? Is that so?" Vacuum Woman asked Armored Gorilla.
"Well, it is as your friend says." Armored Gorilla answered Vacuum Woman's question without repeating himself.
"Hm? And you guys were actually foolish enough to actually go after her? Talk about a bunch of fools making a reckless move." Vacuum Woman mocked Armored Gorilla.
"Like you're one to talk. You hurt your hand punching her face after all, so you're no better than these idiots." Sanju reminded Vacuum Woman.
"Huh? And you expect me to believe that you actually didn't try to attack her when you encountered her for the first time?" Vacuum Woman shouted in disbelief as she looked at Sanju with a doubtful face.
"What? It's true! I didn't try to attack her when we first met. In fact, Setsuka saved my life from another monster that was chasing after me." Sanju smugly told Vacuum Woman while puffing out her chest.
"Hmph, coward. At least I tried to fight her. It is really sad that someone like you is a monster." Vacuum Woman stated her disapproval in the manner that a parent would to their problem child.
"So? Simply heading into a fight that you know you're going to lose isn't really a smart thing to do you now is it? And it's not like you're going to challenge her again from now are you?" Sanju asked Vacuum Woman while looking at the shorter monster with an annoyed expression on her face.
And from there, the two monsters began to argue with each other with great fervor.
'I hope they don't continue arguing for too long.' Armored Gorilla watched on with a confused expression on his face.
And as though his request had been heard, the two monsters stopped their argument and returned their attention to the cybernetic gorilla.
"Sorry you had to see the two of us arguing like that, but I guess it's time that you answered my question." Sanju told the cybernetic gorilla as she looked down on him.
"And start from the beginning. I really want to hear everything about this master of yours." Vacuum Woman demanded from Armored Gorilla as she hardened her gaze.
"Very well." Armored Gorilla complied with the 'requests of the two female monsters standing in front of him before beginning to tell them his master's backstory.
A few hours later, around the forest where the House of Evolution was located
"I did not expect that we would be running all the way to the hideout of our enemies." Ginka mentioned to Setsuka as the two of them continued to run towards their destination.
"What did you expect? That I could actually fly?" Setsuka asked Ginka, curious to hear how the young cyborg thought they would be getting to their destination.
"Actually, that was what I was expecting you to do." Ginka earnestly gave her thoughts on how the two of them would travel.
"You know humans can't fly right?" Setsuka asked her cyborg companion as they continued to dash towards the hideout of the House of Evolution.
"That makes you even more amazing as a hero. The level of strength and speed that you possess is truly something to be respected." Ginka praised Setsuka as the two of them now were getting closer to their destination.
"Eh, I wouldn't say that what we're doing is much of a big deal you know?" Setsuka told Ginka as the base of the House of Evolution was now within their sights.
"We have arrived. This is the place that we were told about." Ginka said once the two of them landed right in front of the large building.
"So this is…"
"The base of operations for the House of Evolution." Ginka answered Setsuka's unfinished question.
"Oh, Cool then. Let's see, they have one, two, three…looks like they have eight floors." Setsuka remarked as she observed the building that was standing in front of her.
*Smack!*
But before Ginka could fire off her attack using one of her transformed hand, Setsuka smacked her right in the head.
"What do you think you're doing?" Setsuka yelled at Ginka with a look of disbelief on her face.
"I believed that destroying their base would be the best course of action, seeing at it would be an efficient way of dealing with our enemies." Ginka explained the reasoning behind the action she was about to take at that moment.
"Well, I guess you could say that. But we don't know if there are any innocent people that need to be rescued from this place. You don't need to rush to destruction in these types of situations you know?" Setsuka reprimanded the young cyborg before looking at the building in front of her.
"I am sorry Setsuka. I will do my best to follow the advice that you have given me if I am in a similar situation in the future." Ginka replied to the light scolding that she received from Setsuka.
"Cool. Now let's just get this over with." Setsuka decided as she began to make her way towards the building's entrance.
'It appears that I may need to stop my habit of going straight for the kill. I must thank Setsuka after we are done here.' Ginka thought to herself as she followed Setsuka to the interior of the building.
Around five to ten minutes after Setsuka and Ginka entered the base of the House of Evolution
Somewhere deep within the basement of the House of Evolution, the leader of the group of mutants was making his way towards the part of his base where the most dangerous member of their organization could be found. And at the moment, he looked to be recalling how the recent events had been playing out in his pursuit of his new target.
'I really thought that I could avoid dealing with the specimen I wish to examine soon after I triggered the bomb planted inside the Rat Overlord's skull. But it was all for naught seeing as she and the other person that Armored Gorilla mentioned in his report are now heading this way as we speak. But to think that the two of them would be able to get through all of the traps that we have set up so effortlessly. They really have left me with no other choice other than to release him.' Doctor Genus lamented to himself as he made his way towards a doorway that led to the room where his trump card was being kept in.
And when he got there, he was greeted with the dead body of one of his clones completely splattered in front of his trump card. Said trump card had the appearance of a mutated beetle with his brown exoskeleton covering most of his tall and stocky-looking humanoid body.
He was currently being restrained by a number of large and heavy chains that were attached to a metal collars that was placed around his neck.
"Hey Carnage Kabuto, tell me are you feeling alright? It appears that you have killed another one of my clones again. Are you satisfied?" Doctor Genus asked the large beetle mutant all while sweat spread throughout his entire body.
"Huh? You fool, why would I be satisfied ? I've been kept locked up deep beneath the Earth. I'm the strongest member of the House of Evolution!" Carnage Kabuto expressed his displeasure at his current situation as he faced in the direction of his creator while looking at him with angry eyes.
"You were kept in captivity because you were mentally unstable. We couldn't control you. There was no other choice that we could make." Doctor Genus stated to his most powerful creation.
*Stomp!*
"Control me? You moron! I am the culmination of the 'New Humans' that you guys have sought out for so long. My intelligence and strength are incomparable to your own! You should be the ones obeying me." Carnage Kabuto rebutted his creator's statement as he mocked the notion that he should be controlled while breaking the collar around his neck.
'No, you're a failure. While it's true that you can perform at unheard off levels, you lack humanity.' the brilliant scientist thought to himself as he looked right at Carnage Kabuto's face.
"Go ahead and kill me if you want. Plenty of clones can take my place." Doctor Genus told Carnage Kabuto.
These words piqued the interest of the strongest warrior of the House of Evolution.
"But I have a favour to ask first. There's a specimen I simply must have. She is extremely powerful. Only you can defeat her. I want you to bring her in…dead or alive." Doctor Genus asked Carnage Kabuto as a holographic image suddenly appeared from one of the walls within the room.
The holographic image showed on the wall showed that both Setsuka and Ginka had already reached the door of the basement and they making their way down the stairs that led to the halls of their basement.
Carnage Kabuto began to chuckle loudly as he got excited at the prospect of facing off against a strong opponent and coming out on top.
