Inside Setsuka's apartment, around the time that Setsuka and Ginka reached the base of the House of Evolution
"I get the feeling that I'm forgetting something." Sanju, who was still disguising herself as a regular human, mused to herself as she sat on the matted floor of the living room/dining room of the tiny apartment room.
"Do I look like I care?" Vacuum Woman rhetorically asked Sanju with an annoyed voice while glaring right at her.
"You could at least- Oh no! The sale that Setsuka was talking about earlier will end today! I've gotta hurry and buy the groceries that she will need to buy before the store closes!" Sanju yelled as she quickly stood up and began to grab some of the empty grocery bags that Setsuka kept in the kitchen.
'Really? This was what you forgot?' Vacuum Woman thought to herself as she saw Sanju dash out of the house while a bead of sweat coming down the side of her face.
Deep within the basement of the House of Evolution
"I gotta say, the traps in the building were pretty underwhelming. And I was really looking forward to seeing what they had in store for us." Setsuka remarked as she remembered the traps that they had managed to destroy on the way to the basement.
"They were not difficult to deal with." Ginka agreed with Setsuka's words.
"But man is this basement huge! I'm getting kind of fired up." Setsuka remarked while looking at the long hallway that she was currently walking in.
But in the middle of their walk, Ginka stopped walking before her ears began to transform in the same manner back when she was still at Setsuka's apartment.
"Setsuka, I hear two life forms just up ahead. There are two of them."
"Hm?"
"Yeah! Here we go!" Carnage Kabuto shouted out as he ran towards his opponent while holding onto the head of his creator in his right hand.
"So which one is it?" the beetle mutant asked his creator.
"The one on the right!" Doctor Genus told the beetle mutant with a pained voice.
"In that case, you don't need the one on the left!" Carnage Kabuto concluded before hitting Ginka right into the wall with his free hand.
"Oof!"
"What the-Hey! What happened to you Ginka?" Setsuka shouted out in shock the moment she noticed the young cyborg's head being embedded into the ground.
"I am Carnage Kabuto! We've got a combat experimentation room back this way. Let's throw down in there." the beetle mutant smugly challenged his new opponent while pointing his thumb to the space behind him.
"Alright then. I'm gonna trash you the same way that you did to Ginka." Setsuka accepted Carnage Kabuto's challenge with a serious expression on her face, to which the beetle mutant smiled.
"Pretty big, huh? It's the largest room in the facility. This is where they make us fight to test our combat abilities." Carnage Kabuto bragged from the center of the large empty room.
Setsuka did not bother to give the mutant in front of her a proper response and continued to glare at him.
"Well then, let's start the killing-"
*Boom!*
Carnage Kabuto's face was suddenly hit by a single fire beam before he could start the battle.
"Oh? Still alive are you?" Carnage Kabuto rhetorically asked as he turned towards the direction from which the attack originated. And staring right at him was none other than Ginka, who was supporting herself to the frame of the doorway leading to the battle room.
But before Ginka could begin to run towards Carnage Kabuto's direction, Setsuka appeared before the young cyborg and knocked her out with a good head chop.
"Don't worry Ginka. I'll make sure to finish him off quickly." Setsuka said after making sure that Ginka would not be harmed while she was unconscious by putting her to the side of the door leading through which they came from.
"Huh? Are you looking down on me?" Carnage Kabuto shouted out in rage once he heard Setsuka's words to the young cyborg.
"Yep. I told you I was gonna trash you real good didn't I?" Setsuka answered the monster as she slowly approached the beetle monster.
"And you think I'm just gonna let you attack me? Hah! Get wrecked!" Carnage Kabuto shouted out before he quickly moved away from the spot that he was standing at and making his way so that he was positioned right behind Setsuka.
But before the beetle mutant could even land a single hit against her, the image of Setsuka angrily looking right at him while slightly turning her head in his direction.
This resulted in him instinctively back away from his opponent by using the wings on his back. He had flown all the way to the walls of the room far, far away from the bald woman.
"What are you doing?" Setsuka asked the beetle mutant as she turned in the direction that he fled towards.
"Absurd! Carnage Kabuto retreating?" Doctor Genus, who had managed to hobble his way to the combat area of the building just when Setsuka had made sure that Ginka would be safe from harm, shouted in disbelief as he witnessed an event that he never thought could actually happen.
'If I had attacked her just now, she'd have killed me. Who the hell is this chick? She's got plenty of openings for me to attack, yet all of my instincts are screaming, sending out danger signals!' Carnage Kabuto panicked as sweat trickled down his entire body due to the fear that he was experiencing.
"Bastard! What are you some kind of freak? How the hell did you-"
*Pow!*
But before he could finish asking his question, Setsuka quickly made her way towards him and punched him right on his chest. This attack of hers resulted in the beetle mutant exploding right then and there.
The leader of the House of Evolution could only look on with his jaws dropped as his strongest creation was defeated so quickly.
"Well, I guess I better go back home now." Setsuka remarked as she made her way towards Ginka and carried her in her arms like a knight would carry a princess before she broke down the wall that she was standing next to and made her exit.
'I think I'm done with evolution. It would appear that I am the one who must change.' Doctor Genus thought to himself as he looked on at hole that Setsuka had left at the wall right in front of him.
Two hours after Carnage Kabuto was defeated, somewhere under the park of City S
'Why would Lord Gyoro Gyoro send me out on such a dangerous mission? Does he want me to die?' a lone figure complained to herself as she made her way through the large tunnel network that was located below the natural park of City S.
The lone figure walking into the tunnel was none other than the Subterranean that had killed her own brother. This time around, she was wearing so much jewellery that covered her body from head to toe while carrying a small pink drone that her new leader had given her for this mission.
'At least his lordship could have sent someone else to accompany me for this mission. Then I wouldn't get bored while doing this. I have been walking this trail for a number of days now.' the spear-wielding Subterranean continued to rant in her head as she was continued to walk in the direction that she was told to go towards.
'But to think that such a strong monster was present all of this time…We really would have been unable to take over the world with such monsters acting as our enemies. I am glad that I joined the Monster Association. But at least he was kind enough to provide me with the information that I needed in order to properly complete the mission that he gave me.' the spear-wielding Subterranean thought to herself as she remembered the briefing that she had been given by Gyoro Gyoro before going out on this mission.
After walking for around half an hour, the female member of the Monster Association finally reached the location that the tiny drone that Gyoro Gyoro gave her pointed her towards.
Once she made it there, the female Subterranean monster was shocked by what she saw right in front of her.
The one to whom she wished to speak to was an extremely long centipede with a purple exoskeleton that covered its entire body.
'At least he has not noticed my presence yet.' the spear-wielding Subterranean thought as she saw the large monster in front of her.
But just as she finished thinking that, the large monster turned in her direction and began to give her an angry look.
'I just had to say that huh?' the spear-wielding Subterranean thought to herself once she saw the large multi-legged monster's face.
"What do you want tiny monster!" the large centipede shouted out in anger as he continued to lay his eyes on her before suddenly lunging at her with the intent of killing her.
But the spear-wielding woman was barely able to dodge the attack that was intended for her.
"Forgive my rudeness, fellow monster but I have come with a message from my master. He wished to make a deal with you. If you would listen to the message, that would be appreciated." the spear-wielding Subterranean told the large centipede in front of her as she made eye contact with him once more.
"I'm not interested in joining anyone." the extremely long centipede responded to the spear-wielding monster's words as he prepared to attack her once more.
But before he could attack her, the drone that she was carrying began to communicate the thought of her master.
"Good day to you Elder Centipede. I'm sorry that we disturbed you just now, but I only wish offer you the chance to take on the top hero in exchange for you working alongside us." the voice of Gyoro Gyoro could be heard coming out of the tiny single-eyed drone.
The words that Gyoro Gyoro uttered were enough to calm Elder Centipede for the moment as he lowered his head in the direction of the spear-wielding Subterranean.
"It looks like I have your attention If you join our little association then I can guarantee that you will be able to get your rematch against the legendary hero who nearly killed you around two years ago. All we ask from you is that you cooperate with us in our objective of eliminating the humans starting with the Hero Association. But do keep in mind that it will take us some time to lure a hero of his caliber to come out in the open." Gyoro Gyoro voice elaborated his plan to Elder Centipede.
"Alright, but how can I guarantee that you will be able to make Blast show himself?" Elder Centipede expressed his doubt to the leader of the Monster Association would be able to fulfill his end of the agreement that he had proposed.
"Well, I plan to attack the humans a few weeks from now by launching a surprise attack against them. The chaos from this attack will be on such a large scale that someone like Blast, who has been absent from the public eye for two years will not be able to ignore it. And when he does, then you will get your chance to fight against the top-ranking hero and claim victory." Gyoro Gyoro reasoned with Elder Centipede.
"He is right. There are a number of monsters ready to answer Lord Gyoro Gyoro's call to arms. And they are a strong group of monsters." the spear-wielding Subterranean added to what her master said.
"Hmm…Very well. I will join your group for the time being. I am growing tired of waiting for him to show up." Edler Centipede agreed to join the alliance.
"Excellent! I wish that I could chat some more with you, but I am afraid that I have other matters that I will have to attend to. I will be sure to send another monster to give you the details of our plans in the future. Till next time." Gyoro Gyoro said before the drone went silent.
"I guess my job here is done. Now then, if you will excuse me." the spear-weilding Subterranean said before making her way out of the room that Elder Centipede was currently in.
'I hope I'll be able to get to face off against him soon.' Elder Centipede thought to himself as he watched the spear-wielding Subterranean walk away from him.
Sometime during the 1,412th day after Setsuka began her training regiment
Under the sea floor deep within the vast ocean, a mysterious figure was having a private conversation with someone that currently was not present.
"What? Someone actually made the boss quit his research on human evolution?" a masculine figure with the appearance of a human male with a tall and lanky build shouted out loud at the news that he had just received.
He had distinct features on his otherwise human looking face such as his semitransparent glowing pink skin, red glowing eyes, and two pairs of tentacles that served as both his arms and legs. The only clothing that he was wearing was a pair of dark green swimming shorts.
"That is correct. According to what the boss told me, the target that he had recently ordered us to pursue was able to defeat Carnage Kabuto before he could even notice her coming for him. Also, the boss has told us to do as we please so you can choose to stop sending reports on the mission that you had been assigned for so long." Armored Gorilla, who had now been completely had his limbs fixed while sitting on a large chair within a dimly-lit room, told the mutant while using the mini satellite that was installed in his head.
"Wait, hold up, you're telling me that the one who was considered as the strongest fighter among us was actually defeated? This can't be true!" the mutated jellyfish mutant stated in disbelief once he heard the reason as to why his creator was giving out such an order.
"I am just repeating what the boss told me. If you wish to confirm the truth of the matter yourself, then you will have to contact the boss himself. I have told you what has happened. Good bye, Count Jellyfish." Armored Gorilla told his fellow mutant before cutting off the mental communication link that he had established with the jellyfish mutant.
'To think that I would outlive Carnage Kabuto. Man, I really must be a lucky guy if I was able to outlive someone as strong as him.' Count Jellyfish thought to himself as he processed the news that he had received from Armored Gorilla.
'And while it is nice that I now get to do whatever I want, it sure is going to take me some time to think about what I'm going to do next. Should I continue observing the members of the Clan of the Sea Folk or should I do something random?' Count Jellyfish began to think to himself as he started to swim away from the place from where he received a brain signal from Armored Gorilla just moments ago.
"It looks like there was an impostor among us." Count Jellyfish heard a feminine voice from behind him.
"Wait a minute! I can explain-Ugh!" Count Jellyfish began to shout out in shock before he was suddenly impaled by a sharp object right through his neck before he fell face first to the ground that he was swimming above.
And above him was a somewhat humanoid feminine monster of short stature was looking down at the mutated jellyfish that she had just killed.
She had black eyes, a full set of sharp teeth, and reddish brown skin and she was currently wearing a yellowish green bikini top that was made using seaweed and a green knee-length skirt that was made using algae. She was also carrying a blood-soaked trident that looked to be specifically made for her in her right hand.
'Good thing I was able to catch him in the middle of his conversation, but unfortunately I was not able to make it in time before he revealed the name of his master. Glad to know that my instincts were right about him. Anyways, I think that I will report what I have found out to his excellency, the Deep Sea King.' the tiny monster thought to herself before she swam to the body of the one that she had killed and began swimming towards her leader.
