Chapter 13 - the moving academy

Stepping into the library, the rows of gigantic book shelves overwhelmed her. Having no idea where to start looking. She took a deep breath walking into the intimidating library, "today seems like a good day, I should be able to find what i'm looking for" Emilia said to herself, walking between the rows of shelves. using her eyes to scan through the labels written on the shelves

"History, magic, angels, vampires, werewolves, demons...." she paused locking her gaze at a big book with a strange signet drawn at the book's bind placed in the shelves written demons. she felt drawn to it. having this urge to pull it out, she stretched out her hands intending to bring out the book

"What are you looking for?" Startled she quickly retracted her hand. turning to the direction where the voice came from. a boy stood behind her fiddling with his fingers. The boy wore the same uniform, with jet black hair and Grey eyes—a werewolf. Weary she stepped back "what do you want?" She asked

"So...sorry did I startle you?" the boy reached out his hand, his eyes looking down shyly, "clearly " Emilia answered, looking at his outstretched hands, "oh...uh...i saw you come in looking quite lost. So...um...I thought to help" he explained, fiddling with his fingers nervously. Help? Really? Emilia looked at him suspiciously. she did need help but after what she went through, she didn't trust anyone's intentions in this school. Being the only vulnerable being amongst all of them, even the weakest person in this school could overpower her easily. taking a glance at him. she admitted she did needed information. asking for information wouldn't hurt right?—right.

"i'm looking for a map leading to the academy" she cut to the chase, "ohh...that...that is...." the boy trailed placing his hand on his chin in the deep thought, "well..." she heard him say, "the map into this school isn't in the library"

"Its not?!" Emilia exclaimed, "why?...how is anyone going to leave this place?' she cried out, fighting the urge to pull on her hair

"You want to leave...why?" asked the boy, feeling like she got caught doing something wrong, she cast him a sharp look. Who wouldn't want to leave this dreadful place "i just need the map to direct someone coming to see me" she lied.

"Oh...well...then that explains it. The school doesn't have a particular map, cause its never in one location...so if you want someone to come see you you'd have to meet with the higher ups for permission" the boy explained.

'its never in one location...' what the hell did she get herself into, a moving school? she was obviously not going to meet the higher ups it'll only expose that she's human, which will not end well for her

"I doubt they'll let you bring anyone in though" she heard him speak "no one is allowed in or out of the academy until after the year end". this shy werewolf boy was telling her she was stuck in this place till the end of the year with a smile on his. what about that information was uplifting "and when does the year end?" she asked.

"In about twelve months"

twelve months?!, a full year is actually a whole year in the freaking college?! Emilia staggered feeling lightheaded from all the dreadful information. she needed to sit down. Seeing her almost fall, the boy moved to help her up. she dodged instinctively, "I just wanted to help you. you seemed like you were going to fall" he explained

Not about to let her guards down, she replied with a small smile "thanks, I can hold myself up"

"do you need a place to sit...I could take you to a good place to sit down" the boy offered looking a little hesitant from her rejection. Emilia glanced at him, giving him a side look. she did need to sit down to organize her thoughts, but she wasn't ready to trust this nameless fellow.

"by the way my name is Seth"

Who asked you?, she squinted her eyes at him "how would i know you wouldn't try to kill me?" she asked.

"Why would I try to kill you" he retorted his voice coming out a little louder from being accused, "who knows...camilla had no reason to either" Emilia retorted, waving her hands dramatically. "Wait who is Camilla?"

"No one you need to know about" Emilia shot back. Wondering why he was being curious. wasn't that a cat trait?

"how about this if I wanted to harm you I can't do it in the library. There are security systems watching us"

"like cameras?" Emilia asked, "uh...well something like that but its controlled by magic" Seth explained.

a magically controlled security system. what's next flying brooms and talking books. but what if he was lying Emilia narrowed her eyes sizing him up suspiciously, "I'm seriously telling the truth" he said waving his hand frantically "no form of violence is allowed in school premises" he quickly explained

"so its allowed outside school premises" Emilia added to his words, "well...yes as long as the higher ups don't find out" seth replied.

so that was why they had to wait till the bonfire, for the opportunity to almost kill her. But if there were security systems watching them—then why wasn't Damien caught feeding on somenone in the library. it seemed like either there was a flaw in this 'magic' or a blind spot

"Well..." the boy called out for her attention, Emilia turned her gaze to the boy smiling nervously at her. giving him a long hard look she reluctantly agreed.

he turned leading her towards their destination. however, Emilia stayed a step behind, paying close attention to his movement. The second she senses something off she was going to take off running.

After multiple rows of book shelves and turning in different directions that she lost count, they finally reached a little lounge in the middle of the library. four couches were arranged in a circle, then a few wooden desk paired with a chair placed in no particular order. giant book shelves surrounded the reading space. Natural light came in from the large window placed up close to the ceiling.

Seeing how empty the place was, Emilia asked "why is no one else here?"

"every one else went out to eat and— hangout"

"and you're alone here" she said, earning a slow nod from him. he was a loner, which was sad but in as much as she sympathized with his loneliness she didn't want him thinking they are friends just because she indulged him. his kind were easy to manipulate so she wasn't about to put herself in that situation.

"Thank you for showing me a place to sit" she said walking straight to a couch, sitting comfortably, she was about to rest her head had on her palm to think about her current predicament when she felt a weight on it, turnng to look at her hand she held the book with the strange signet. she didn't remember pulling out the book. giving the book one more look she lowered it to her lap.
