"Excuse me..." Jacob muttered, his fists clenching so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He looked completely irritated and exhausted by her attitude.
"Just why exactly are you so upset with me today?!" he demanded, taking a step closer to her. "If there's something specific that I did wrong, you could just open your mouth and tell me straight to my face! I don't see the need for all this drama and attitude when you can just tell me what's bordering you so badly inside!"
"What's bordering me?" Persephone said, her voice dropping into a bitter, sharp tone. She looked at him for a long, painful second before she clicked her tongue, turning her face away from his gaze. "You still don't have a single clue, do you. You still don't know anything at all."
She didn't wait for him to answer. Before he could even open his mouth, she turned her back on him completely and began walking straight ahead into the deep bushes on the other side of the clearing.
