Chapter 146: THIRD POV.
Priscilla looked up at him, her sharp golden eyes drilling right into his face. She tilted her head slightly, her voice dropping into a smooth, dangerous purr that sent a tiny shiver down his back.
"Oh? A formal salute?" she asked, her tone dripping with mock surprise. "My, how respectful. Tell me, Jacob, why exactly are you saluting me so formally now? Especially when a certain someone loudly stated on deck a few weeks ago that they had absolutely no use for me anymore."
Jacob chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck as a sheepish smile broke across his face.
' Yeah, I knew she'd never forget that so easily... Women sure can hold a grudge.' he said helplessly in his mind.
He stepped a bit closer to the center of the cabin, trying his best to ease the thick layer of tension in the narrow room.
"Come on, Captain, you should know very well by now why I did that," he said, holding his hands up slightly with a harmless smile on his face.
