He smiled softly at her, his eyes full of affection. Instead of giving her a long lecture, he reached out and pulled her into a sudden, tight embrace, burying her face in his chest.
He leaned down slightly and whispered directly into her ear, his voice incredibly tender. "How could I ever not forgive you, you silly woman?"
" You are my mistress, aren't you?"
Persephone was completely stunned by the sudden warmth of his arms wrapped around her body, her heart skipping a beat as she stood frozen in his embrace.
A deep feeling of safety and relief washed over her, replacing all the fear and anger from earlier.
She closed her eyes and smiled silently against his shoulder, wrapping her own arms around his waist, not saying a single word as the ship continued to sail smoothly over the now peaceful waves.
