He forced his way forward, dragging his feet against the tilting deck until he was standing directly in the middle of them, his body acting as a barrier between the captain and the mermaid.
He threw his arms out to his sides, his eyes wide with a mix of anger and desperation as he yelled again at the top of his lungs. "I said stop! Both of you, drop all of this, right now!"
"Get out of the way, Jacob!" both women said in warning tones, their voices blending into a single, furious command as they glared at him for interrupting their battle.
They didn't lower their power for a second, their clashing energies continuing to swirl around his body as the massive ship took another terrifying dip into the wild waves below.
Facing their incredibly powerful auras, Jacob let out a long, heavy sigh and simply said, "Fine."
