Chapter 143: THIRD POV.
Jacob's face turned red. A deep, hot blush spread from his neck to his ears. He opened his mouth. Closed it. Opened it again. No words came out.
Priscilla waited. Her fake serious look did not break.
Jacob finally found his voice. "Alright, captain," he said. His voice was higher than usual.
He turned and walked to the door, his face still red. He opened the door and stepped out into the dark hallway.
Priscilla watched him go. Then she looked down at Persephone's sleeping body. Then she looked at Artria, who was standing in the corner with her mouth still open.
"Well? What are you waiting for?" Priscilla said. "Hurry up and go to bed."
She then sauntered out the room just like she arrived.
*********
The next day.
Jacob woke up with a sudden jolt as the entire room shook violently around him. The wood of his small cabin groaned loudly, and several loose items on his desk slid off the edge and crashed onto the floorboards.
