Raven reached for Missy's waist the moment he got to her. Not far behind, Emily and Daniel could be seen approaching as well.
"You took too long. You said you were going to the restroom, didn't you?" Raven said.
Missy nodded. "I'm sorry."
"Is there a problem?" Daniel asked once he drew closer. "Wasn't that Charlotte?"
"Charlotte isn't feeling very well. I asked Justin to take her home," Missy explained.
"Really?" Emily chimed in.
"Yes. There's no problem, right? The event seems to be going just fine."
Missy spoke reassuringly to both Emily and Daniel.
"There will be a problem if you stay outside for too long. It's cold," Raven murmured.
He wrapped an arm around Missy and gently rested one hand over her stomach.
The tender gesture did not escape Daniel and Emily's notice. Both blinked in surprise.
A brief silence followed, subtle yet noticeable, as if both of them had unconsciously acknowledged something they were not meant to comment on.
