Unable to take her eyes off Charlotte, Missy found herself watching the woman almost unconsciously.
Every time Charlotte moved, her gaze followed.
Something had felt wrong earlier when Daniel had led Charlotte away. Just for a moment, Charlotte's expression had looked strange—sad, distant, and oddly troubled—as she glanced back toward her boyfriend.
So when Charlotte quietly headed toward the back garden, Missy found herself following without really thinking about it.
Back inside the ballroom, Raven was speaking with several guests while Henry stood nearby. He merely nodded when Missy casually mentioned she was going to the restroom.
But that wasn't where she went.
