Seeing that Chloe Shea was still hesitating and didn't seem to have accepted his excuse, Julian Sterling deliberately paused. He put on an earnest expression and sighed.
"Mom, even though things between Eve and me haven't gotten any worse, there's still a knot in her heart! I truly didn't give her enough care in the past, and I want to quietly make it up to her now. I don't want to do something and then immediately run and tell her about it."
He sounded so sincere that Chloe Shea didn't think he was lying.
Besides, her son-in-law had always been so proud. For him to come to her on his own initiative, and even bring a doctor to see her, was truly a rare occurrence.
She could tell he was sincere about making amends, so Chloe Shea had no reason to refuse.
"Alright then, I'll do as you say!"
"Please, don't say a word. Just imagine, as she gradually gets better, one day she suddenly finds out I was the one buying her medicine. Isn't that romantic?"
