Evelyn Grant quickly covered her phone's receiver and looked at Assistant Wright, stunned.
'He's probably been working here longer than I have. How could he not know you can't say something like that in front of a client?'
'That's an easy way to get a complaint, isn't it?'
She sighed and furrowed her brow, clearing her throat before looking down to answer the client.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ford. Something has come up at the firm today, so I'm afraid we won't be able to meet in person."
"Something came up?" Surprisingly, Mr. Ford wasn't angry. He even thought for a moment before saying, "In that case, how about we meet after you get off work? It'll just be for a few words, I won't take up too much of your time."
Evelyn Grant glanced at Assistant Wright before speaking. "Alright, I'll contact you after my meeting is over."
"Okay."
After she hung up, Assistant Wright quickly asked, "What was that? Your client wants to meet with you after work?"
