Leaving Mr. Nam and Min Seok behind, Siwon drove her luxury sedan down the empty streets.
"For this kind of nonsense, did I hire all of these people?" she sighed to herself, shaking her head tightly while holding the steering wheel.
After driving around and looking at the quiet city for a while, Siwon reached a lonely road. There were almost no other cars around; it was the dead of night. A cold wind blew through the open window, filling the air with a deep silence.
Suddenly, a red traffic light appeared ahead. Siwon stepped on the brakes, and the car stopped peacefully in the quiet night. She sat inside, listening to the music and looking straight ahead.
Suddenly, she saw a boy stumbling and tripping in the middle of the road, walking directly toward her car. His hair was completely messy, and though he wore an expensive designer suit, his appearance was totally ruined. He kept coming right in front of her vehicle.
"Who is this crazy person? And where on earth is he going? The pedestrian path is right over there, so why is he walking right in the middle of the road?" Siwon asked, raising a sharp eyebrow in annoyance.
The boy kept walking until he stood right at the hood of Siwon's car. He placed a shaking hand on the clean metal, and then—without any warning—he vomited heavily across the shining, clean bonnet of Siwon's luxury car.
Siwon't mind went completely blank for a second. Her eyes went wide with pure shock. All of her international corporate swag and dangerous mafia attitude disappeared in a single second. Her lips trembled with absolute rage and disbelief.
"WHAT THE FU...!!!"
Right after vomiting, the boy dizzily closed his eyes. His legs gave out, and he fell straight onto the hard road, completely unconscious.
Mad with anger, Siwon ripped off her seatbelt, pushed her car door open, and stepped outside. The moment her feet touched the ground, the terrible smell of vomit hit her nose. Siwon instantly blocked her nose and mouth tightly with one hand.
"Yuck! Shit! Gross!" Siwon gagged, closing her eyes in deep disgust.
She looked down at the unconscious boy. He was sleeping like an innocent, peaceful baby on the asphalt. He clearly had no idea that he had just ruined the car of a highly dangerous corporate Queen.
Holding her nose tightly, Siwon walked closer to him. She did not want her hands, or even her clothes, to touch him because she was so disgusted. She took a deep breath, balanced herself, and used the sharp, pointed toe of her expensive black leather oxford shoes to poke the boy's stomach and shoulder to wake him up. The sharp leather toe struck him repeatedly.
"Hey! Wake up, you ghost! You completely ruined my car, and now you are sleeping peacefully? Wake up!"
Suddenly, a motorbike screeched to a halt behind them. A delivery boy jumped off his bike and started shouting from a distance. "Hey! What did you do, Ma'am?! Don't you know how to drive?! You just hit a man in the middle of the road!"
Siwon turned around quickly, her eyes burning with pure rage. "Oh, you! What are you saying? What do you mean 'what happened here'?! Did you even see what actually happened before opening your mouth?!"
The delivery boy tried to step closer to look, but Siwon raised her hand in a strict, dominant boss-style gesture. "Get lost! Go! I will handle it myself. You may leave!" she shouted.
Seeing her terrifying, dangerous aura, the delivery boy muttered angry words under his breath, quickly started his bike, and sped away into the dark.
Siwon rolled her eyes in frustration. "I swear, I don't know where these random people keep coming from..."
Left alone again, Siwon kicked the boy two or three more times with her shoe with some force, trying to wake him up. But he did not move a single inch. He was completely drunk and fast asleep.
"Stupid man... just die here then," Siwon snapped, flipping her hair angrily.
She got back inside her car and drove away, leaving him behind on the empty road. But she had only driven a short distance when a sudden, terrifying thought flashed in her mind. It was midnight. The road was completely dark and empty. What if a heavy truck or a fast car came down this road and ran over his unconscious body? He would literally die for no reason.
Siwon hit the steering wheel in deep frustration. "What a complete disaster! Whatever bad thought comes into my head, it just stays there! Ugh... fine, let me go back and check if he left or not."
Siwon turned the luxury car around and drove back to the exact same spot. The boy was still lying there on the road, completely unconscious next to his own mess.
Siwon opened her door and stepped out to look at him, but right at that exact moment... bright police lights suddenly flashed, and the loud wail of a siren echoed through the darkness. And driving right in front of the police car was that same annoying delivery boy on his motorbike, leading the officers straight to her.
The delivery boy stopped his bike and pointed his finger directly at Siwon, shouting at the police officer. "Sir! Sir, there she is! Look at her! She just hit her boyfriend with her car on the road! A few minutes ago, I came by and she was trying to hide the crime and run away from me!"
Siwon't brain completely spun 180 degrees. Her eyes went wide with absolute shock. Her entire dangerous corporate queen pride froze instantly.
"WHAT?!" Siwon yelled, her voice a mix of deep anger and complete disbelief. "What are you talking about?! I hit him? And BOYFRIEND? Oh, you... you know I have had a lot of pride since childhood for not having had a single boyfriend in my life, and you dare say this trash! Officer, if you don't believe me, then check it yourself!"
The police officer slowly stepped out of his car, swinging his wooden nightstick, walking toward Siwon. The mighty Ice Queen stood there—the woman who usually defeated her enemies with a single cold look—now completely trapped in a ridiculous boyfriend-murder case.
One of the officers walked over to the boy and checked his pulse. He smelled the air and realized the truth. "Ah, he just has a massive hangover. He is completely drunk."
Suddenly, the police officer's radio buzzed loudly, and his phone began to ring. He answered it quickly, his face turning pale within seconds. He hung up and looked at Siwon in a total panic.
"Ma'am! Please, can you just drop your boyfriend off at his house?" the officer pleaded, running back toward his patrol car. "And please, don't do this a second time!"
Siwon gasped in pure shock. "WHAT?! He is NOT my boyfriend! And I didn't do anything wrong! So please, officers, do your actual work and don't try to teach me!"
The officer shook his head. "Ma'am, what is the proof that he is not your boyfriend? Girls nowadays entrap poor guys and then abandon them or kill them... I don't even know what this world is coming to."
Siwon't face filled with massive, explosive frustration. What the hell was this?! She wanted to explain the entire situation, but the officers were hurrying back to their car.
The second officer turned around and added, "Ma'am, I am warning you again. If anything wrong happens to this man tonight, I will personally issue a warrant against you!"
Siwon stood there, completely stunned. "What on earth is even going on?!"
"But why should I take him?" she yelled back. "I have my own important work to do! This is your job as the police!"
"Ma'am, we just got an emergency call! We have to leave for an urgent case right now!" the first officer yelled, jumping into his car. "Please just do it, Ma'am! Because if anything happens to this man, all the blame will be put on you. Why take risks? Please, just take him to his house. We must go!"
"But I don't even know where his house is!" Siwon shouted back, her voice echoing in the empty night. But the police car slammed into gear, sirens blaring, and sped away alongside the delivery boy.
Left with no choice, Siwon quickly searched the unconscious boy's pockets and pulled out his luxury phone. But it was securely locked. She forced his eye open to try and unlock it with facial recognition, but the screen flashed a message—it required a pattern lock.
She snapped in pure frustration, "At this day and age, who on earth still uses a pattern lock? Shit!"
She couldn't find any address or contact information on him. She quickly grabbed a napkin, wiped his messy mouth with absolute disgust, and turned around to grab the delivery boy to make him help—but the delivery boy had already jumped on his bike and escaped into the night.
Siwon't face turned completely serious and dark. "Now this is a total disaster..."
With no other choice, she tried to lift him up carefully, thinking it would be an easy task. But because the boy was completely dizzy and out of it, he suddenly moved and started singing sleepily, "Don't leave me..."
His sudden movement completely disturbed Siwon't balance. She lost her footing on the pavement, and the boy fell straight on top of her. Holding her nose against the terrible smell, Siwon groaned in deep disgust. She dragged his heavy body to the back of her luxury car, opened the door, and literally threw him into the backseat like a sack of potatoes.
After driving some distance, she spotted a public bench on the side of the road. She stopped the car and stood outside, trying to think of a way to leave him behind. She dragged him out of the backseat and laid him down carefully on the nearby public bench.
But the bench was way too small and narrow for a grown man. The moment she let go, the boy rolled over and fell straight onto the hard ground, landing with a loud, heavy thud.
Siwon sighed, picked him up again, and placed him back on the bench.
Thud! He rolled off again.
She lifted him one more time, trying to balance him.
Thud! He hit the ground yet again.
Seeing him roll off the bench repeatedly and hit the ground, Siwon actually felt a tiny, unexpected bit of pity for the helpless, drunk boy. With a deep, exhausted sigh, she picked him up one last time, loaded him back into the backseat of her car, and drove.
She drove and drove and drove. Siwon grew more and more tense as the clock ticked. Where was she supposed to take this random stranger? She tried to call her secretary, Mr. Nam, but his phone just kept ringing without an answer.
"Oh, I know exactly why he isn't answering," she muttered to herself through gritted teeth. "He is too busy watching those girl group members dance on stage."
Suddenly, Siwon't wide eyes spotted a glowing hospital sign on the side of the road. It was only one kilometer away. She looked straight ahead, hit the gas, and drove directly to the nearest hospital.
When they arrived, she wanted absolutely zero drama. She walked straight up to the reception desk and demanded that they admit the boy immediately.
Before the receptionist girl could even give an answer, a few ward boys rushed over with a stretcher. They quickly lifted the unconscious boy, placing him on it while setting up an emergency ventilator mask over his face to help him breathe.
Another ward boy looked at Siwon't expensive outfit and then at the drunk boy on the ventilator. "Ma'am, what is his illness?"
Siwon looked at him with a sharp, freezing stare. "That is your work to figure out. Who is the doctor here, you or me?"
With an extremely annoyed face, she ignored any more of his questions. She glanced over at the boy on the ventilator, thinking to herself that she needs to settle everything quickly.
She turned back to the receptionist and snapped, "Just tell me the registration fees. I don't think he has a single penny on him right now."
Siwon opened her luxury pocket purse, pulled out a thick stack of high-value Korean Won notes, and threw them directly onto the counter without even counting them or waiting for any actual medical tests to finish.
The receptionist counted the cash quickly and looked up in surprise. "Ma'am... this amount is much more than the actual fees."
Siwon let out a sigh, a mix of slight relief and lingering frustration. "That is fine. Just keep it, and give the remaining money to him when he wakes up."
She looked at the attending doctors with a cold, commanding gaze. "Take good care of him, okay? I am leaving."
Without waiting for a single answer, the elegant Valkyrie Queen turned around, her maroon coat swirling dramatically in the hospital air, and walked out into the night, leaving her mysterious midnight encounter behind.
