Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The Night That Changed Everything - Part 2

Delhi – Late Night

After a long, sleepless journey from the UK and a storm of emotions at the hospital, Kabir Malhotra finally arrived at the Malhotra Hotel.

He had one goal in mind: Kanya—the girl who broke his brother's heart.

But first, he needed rest. The private jet, the hospital chaos, and holding his youngest brother through tears had drained him. Before sleeping, Kabir made a quick call to his brothers.

"Keep this from Dadaji and Dadiji," he instructed in a cold tone.

"They've already lost enough in life. I'll handle this."

His voice was emotionless, but his mind… was already plotting.

Somewhere Else – The Bride's House

Kanya stood silently by her window, dressed in a soft pink saree, as laughter and music echoed from downstairs. Her mehndi ceremony was in full swing. Flowers decorated the walls. Women danced. Dhol beats filled the air.

But inside her… there was only noise. Fear. Guilt.

She stared at the decorations, the bride herself—but felt like a stranger in her own skin.

That's when her elder sister, Maya, entered the room.

"Come on, Kanya!" Maya grinned. "It's your mehndi! Everyone's waiting for the bride!"

Kanya forced a smile. "I'll be down in a minute, Didi… just a little nervous."

Maya tilted her head, concerned. "You sure?"

Kanya nodded. "Yes. You go. I'll join soon."

Downstairs, guests whispered.

"Why is the younger daughter getting married before the older one?"

"Did something happen to Maya's engagement?"

The gossip was sharp, cruel. But Archana, their mother, silenced them with fire in her eyes.

"We love both our daughters equally. Maya's fiancé is abroad for business. Vivek's family is respectful and responsible. This marriage is our decision, and we are proud of it."

The guests fell quiet.

Maya looked around, uneasy. Her thoughts drifted to Amit, her fiancé, who had been away on a long business trip. She missed him more than she admitted, but she had faith—they would be together soon.

Kanya finally came down, wrapped in gold and maroon, her eyes dull behind her makeup. The mehndi went on. Songs were sung. Laughter echoed.

But Kanya's mind wasn't there.

Her heart… was back with Sahil.

The man she had left behind.

The man she had loved, but feared.

And worse—she was hiding something.

Just before coming downstairs, she had taken a pregnancy test.

When she returned to her room later that night… she picked up the stick, her hands trembling.

One word stared back at her:

"Positive."

Kanya's knees gave out. She sat on the floor, her eyes wide with panic.

"No… no… this can't be happening."

She couldn't tell Maya. She couldn't tell anyone.

What had she done?

And what would happen now?

The Next Morning – Malhotra Estate, Delhi

Kabir sipped his black coffee as one of his men entered the room.

"We found her. Name: Kanya Sharma. Lives in South Delhi. Engagement ceremony's going on. Wedding's in three days. She's marrying a man named Vivek Sinha."

Kabir's eyes sharpened.

"Bring her to the farmhouse. No one sees her. No mistakes."

The order was final.

Back at Kanya's House – Hours Later

Maya walked toward Kanya's room, ready to tease her about the wedding prep and get her breakfast.

But the room was… empty.

No bags. No clothes. No note.

Kanya was gone.

Panic gripped Maya's throat. She searched the entire house, screaming her sister's name. The staff joined. The neighbors joined.

Still, nothing.

Their mother broke down. Her father stood frozen, devastated.

"What will people say?"

"Where is she?"

"Did she run away?"

Questions filled the house. Shame loomed like a cloud.

But Maya's heart told her—this wasn't just cold feet. Something was wrong. Deeply wrong.

Where was her sister?

And more importantly—who took her?
