One of the Butcher Boys dashes at Ayuma, winding up his fist. "Now witness my EX Talent: Chain World Impact Spiral Fist!"
Ayuma sidesteps, jumps back onto an alley wall, and lunges forward toward the Butcher Boy, kneeing him in the face and knocking him out.
"Impossible! He took out the boss—retreat!!"
After fending off the Butcher Boys, Ayuma notices a flyer on the wall. It reads:
THE WORLD'S GREATEST ACADEMY IS NOW OPEN ONCE AGAIN FOR NEW RECRUITS.
Open to all… but not all will pass.
Come to Hyun, the number one academy on the planet.
Ayuma says, "Hmm. Looks like I found a way to get stronger."
One week later… (time skip)
Headmaster: Welcome, all, to the Hyun Academy Qualification Exams. I see a lot have gathered here, but not all will be able to pass. Let's get to the point. Round 1 will be a test of endurance, agility, and stamina. You will be teleported to the Jungle of Demise, where countless traps, poisons, and D-grade monsters await. Good luck to all. Begin!!!
Ayuma spawns in the jungle and notices no one around him. "So it looks like we all spawn separately… interesting," Ayuma says.
He starts jumping from tree to tree for the next 30 minutes as he says, "This seems to eas—"
A massive blade comes flying past, faster than he can perceive. He barely dodges.
"Looks like I spoke too soon," Ayuma says.
As Ayuma continues to travel through the jungle, he dodges axes, monster boars, falling blades, and omnidirectional poison bamboo darts.
"Tsk… this poison is slowing me down," Ayuma says.
Ayuma continues dodging, but barely, because of the constant poison darts—until cling.
"Hey, rookie. The name's Bertram," he says.
Bertram effortlessly deflects the darts with his massive greatsword.
"Hahahaha! You've done quite well." He picks Ayuma up by the back of his shirt.
"Hey! Put me down, ya big brute!"
Bertram throws Ayuma to the finish line.
"Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!" Ayuma screams as he goes flying.
