Susan froze.
The colour drained from her face so quickly that Lina almost felt sorry for her.
Almost. She also felt like laughing but knew it was not the right time to do so, and so she kept it in.
Only a moment earlier, Susan had been glaring at Ros with the fury of someone who had completely forgotten there were cameras recording every second of the game. Now she straightened her back, smoothed her hair and carefully arranged her features into the sweet, innocent expression the audience was used to seeing.
The transformation was almost frightening.
Within seconds, the furious woman from moments ago had disappeared.
Susan looked like an entirely different person.
Ros stared at her.
"Are you from up north?"
Susan lowered her head. Her cheeks had turned red.
"So what if I am?"
Ros immediately shook her head. "No, no. I just didn't know."
Susan looked as though she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.
