When everyone sat down, Raine had began with introducing everyone. First their title then species then name.
As someone who was watching from the fog as a spectator and invisible host, it was funny to hear everyone have a cool title and then Rimuru is just Newbie.
Guy Crimson: "Clayman, since this was your Walpurgis, why don't you start us off?"
Clayman: "Thank you Guy, firstly I'd like to say that it's in poor taste that the host of this Walpurgis isn't here."
Immediately when Walpurgis had barely started, Claymans first comment had already gotten him death glares, mainly from Dino.
Guy: "Clayman, I can assure that Simon is here, just not in the way you think he is. Carry on with what we are here for."
Although he couldn't tell if it were his imagination, he could also feel some thought of a threat in Guy's words, " Well then. I've brought this meeting to attention because of the subsequent betrayal of demon lord Carrion and the usurpation of power by this Charlatan Rimuru Tempest."
Clayman then rambled on about how Carrion was going to overthrow the demon lords starting with him and that Milim had protected him and retaliated in kind.
It was honestly sad that he was so arrogant that he didn't evens notice how others just didn't believe him.
He went on about how Rimuru just so happend to come across the demon lord seed and usurped the power of the true dragon Veldora to kill the army of Falmuth and awaken as a true demon lord.
He went on about how Rimuru indiscriminately wiped out his army in an attempt to overthrow his rule as a demon lord.
Then in his theatrical performance, he began to sob, " And then… he killed my beloved surbordinate… Mjurran."
In an instant Clayman went back to his usual smug facial expression with a hint of feigned sorrow, "I suggest that we kick this vile pretender off the council immediately and execute him at once."
When this ended, the accused decided it was his time to defend himself, "You said your name was Clayman right? I don't know where you've gotten those stories but they are completely wrong."
"Oh how so?" Claymans smile vanished but he was still confident that he was able to sway the opinion of the council in his favour.
Lord only knows where his confidence comes from, frankly I've made his reputation among the council much worse then it was in the original timeline.
"Firstly, I have never once conspired with Carrion to overthrow the demon lords, we simply made a trade agreement, that's all."
Rimuru then stood up, " Secondly, Veldora was not involved in the killing of Falmuths army, that was all me and frankly that was self defense."
" Thirdly, Mjurran isn't dead, she is simply in my care now and lastly…" Rimuru then smirked, something that caught Clayman off guard, "… I am not the one that wiped out your army, that was Simon's doing."
Clayman clenched his teeth violently but kept his cool at the moment, "Is there anyway for you to corroborate your statement? I mean you can't expect anyone here to believe you if you don't bring evidence."
Rimuru took his seat once more and responded with a smug smile, " I think you should present your own evidence on the matter before demanding some of me. It doesn't matter though, Simon said that he actually had something in mind for this back and forth."
Rimuru then looked up at the dome in the sky, " Simon, if you will?"
Suddenly, like hairs standing up from goosebumps, the vortex of grayfog around them rippled and from it a chuckle arose and a voice echoed, " Well then, court is in session."
Suddenly the table and the space shifted, the ten seated table broke apart, and eight of them broke off equally to the side. Rimuru and Claymans seats moved to the center in-between the other eight.
In-between Clayman and Rimuru a bronze scale formed, in one of the bowls was a small sculpture of Clayman and in the other was one of Rimuru.
My voice announced once again, " The rules of this are simple. You can ask me to project any scene from the past and present it here, either to defend against an accusation or to accuse someone of a sin. Do you understand this?"
Rimuru, Clayman and all the demons lords were surprised by what the hell just happened.
Rimuru: " I…I understand."
Clayman: "I also… understand."
"Well then, let's get underway. Since you're the accused, why don't you start off? What would you like me to show first?"
Clayman then smirked, "Fine then, if it's possible to show scenes directly from his side then I would like to show the death of Mjurran."
From my throne beyond the fog, I looked at Clayman with a curious smile, 'He thinks Rimuru was lying about Mjurran being alive.'
Nonetheless, above the scale projected the scene of Youm, Grucias, Mjurran, Benimaru and Rimuru.
Rimuru declaring that he would kill Mjurran, Youm and Grucias desperate but useless attempts at saving Mjurran and Mjurran simply giving up her life.
Mjurran stepped forward and Rimuru plunged his hand into Mjurran's chest.
And that's where the clip ends.
"Now you see, this vicious pretender killed her in cold blood." Clayman looked way too smug.
And Rimuru look annoyed, 'Hey, why the hell did you stop the clip there. You know there's more to it then that.'
But my voice beamed back to his head with a firm response, 'As judge, I must stay impartial to the courtroom. If you want me to continue then just use that as your next request.'
As Rimuru got his mind back to the court, he saw as the scales tipped to Claymans side.
"Fine then, it's my turn now. I request that you continue that clip as it was." The request surprised Clayman.
Above the scale, the projection from before had shown once again starting off to where Rimuru plunged his hand into Mjurran's chest.
"I-I'm still alive?" Mjurran's voice came extremely stunned.
"You were legitimately dead for like five seconds." Rimuru then lifted his hand to show a metallic heart, "I simply replaced Claymans marionette heart with another one."
"I said I would kill you to make sure that Clayman wouldn't grow suspicious of my actual intentions."
And then the clip ended right there, leaving Clayman a confused mess.
My voice echoed throughout the hall once more, "Well then why don't we go on to the next clip?"
