「Weekend. A family amusement park.」
Zane and Jasmine sat on the carousel, but their minds weren't on the ride. The siblings scanned their surroundings, their big, round eyes wide with curiosity.
'Where's Daddy?'
'Which one is him?'
The two little ones had the same thought, constantly looking left and right.
"Zane, I don't think any of the men here are handsome," Jasmine whispered, climbing off the carousel and leaning close to Zane's ear. "Our daddy definitely isn't here."
Zane furrowed his little brows, his expression serious. "I don't think they're handsome, either."
Jasmine tilted her head, troubled. "Then what do we do? We can't find Daddy."
"It's okay." Zane took his sister's hand, his serious tone laced with a hint of reassurance. "Mommy said Daddy would come find us, so we just have to wait here for him."
Jasmine nodded and obediently agreed, "Okay."
"Jasmine, let's go play over there." Zane led his sister toward the "playing house" area.
