The following day, the only thought in my head was the words in the book. It felt like it has been stuck there forever. Anytime I passed through an object, I would try to make it move but nothing would happen. I would try and try again but nothing would happen. I refused to give up.
I knew I could do something. I had done it before. That strange warmth beneath my skin when Elke had pushed me too far. I wanted to feel it again.
If emotion could trigger magic, then perhaps I needed to understand what kind of magic lived inside me. I looked at the candle on the table.
"Come on."
Nothing happened and I frowned. I stretched out my hand.
"Light."
No light came out and I sighed.
"Blue flame."
Still nothing. I dropped my hand.
"This is stupid." I said frustrated but I knew it was real.
I knew hadn't imagined what happened with Elke. The candles didn't just flicker because it wanted to.
