I couldn't stop thinking about what Hades had said.
You have magic in your blood.
The words followed me everywhere. They echoed in my mind as I walked through the corridor slowly, as I climbed the stairs, even as I stood in my room staring at my reflection.
A witch.
Me. I still couldn't make it fit. I looked exactly the same. I still had the same face, eyes and hands. Nothing about me looked different yet somehow, everything was different. I raised my hand and stared at my palm.
The strange silver mark that had appeared there before was gone. I turned my hand over.
Nothing.
"So what can you actually do?" I whispered.
The room offered no answer. I frowned.
"If I'm a witch, shouldn't I be able to do something?"
I looked at the small wooden cup sitting on the table. I remembered what I'd read about magic, blood, fire and healing. Witches could do all these things. Didn't they? Perhaps I could move things. I stared at the cup.
