You couldn't tell if he was being real but one look into his golden eyes gave you the answer.
In his eyes you were nothing to him.
Just another toy he found and he would soon lose interest in.
"Just what am I to you Hanma?" your voice slightly cracked towards the end of your sentence. Feeling a stinging sensation in your heart, you felt warm tears trickling down your face causing a short dry laugh at how pathetic you looked.
A child begging for love from a parent who did not care about the child. It was like you back in your original life, this time Hanma taking your mothers place.
The ravenette scoffed at your tears. His eyes remained emotionless and uncaring but if one looked deeper they could see a some hurt in them. He loved you more than he could even begin to understand.
He opened his mouth to say something but stopped himself, he himself did not understand his growing need to be around you but seeing your tears he knew he had to give an answer but the one he gave was the worst one :"I don't know. "
He wasn't lying. He did not know.
"But there's something I do know, I can't be around you." Without him wanting to hide you away from the whole world.
You tried to hold back your tears but you were failing miserably. "What about Faceless?" you croaked out hoping you seemed tough.
"You can have it."
"What about school?" You wanted to see him everyday. Even if you weren't partners.
"I'll transfer."
"So this is it?" you asked wiping away your tears.
"I guess it is" he replied exhaling sharply. He clenched his fist together to stop himself from wiping away your tears himself, instead he looked elsewhere.
You bit your lip. "For what it was worth I loved being around you Shuji. Even if I don't understand why you're leaving" you gave him a close eyed smiling through your pain, your smile wavering a bit.
He smiled hopping on the bike. He threw his helmet at you which you caught easily. "Keep it. Incase we ever go night rides in the future."
You nodded your head tears still falling as you watched him drive away, gripping the helmet tightly.
'The future huh?' you were starting to despise the word.
"Oh Koko it's been a while" Inui said seeing the blackhaired friend infront of the library, the boy liked to visit. He knew the ravenette boy would visit the library so he decided to wait for him outside.
"Inupi..." Koko replied dryly, he had wide eye bags around his eyes. He was tired and trying to work on a list of reasons why two competitors would get together for a lunch. He was shocked when the Haitani Brothers told him Pluto's weird request.
The two friends walked into the library together an awkward silence lingering in the air between them, the two clearly distressed about something. Kokonoi stacked up a lot of books on business advice, he sat at his usual spot with Seishu seating across him.
'Y/N.... why are you stuck in my head?'
'Pluto what is it you want?'
The two friends thought both of them heaving a tired sigh. Kokonoi's ears quirked up, "what's on your mind Inupi?"
"Y/N" he mindlessly said without even realizing it, this caused Koko to stop reading his book shutting it loudly making Seishu snap out of his trend.
"A girl? Who? Where does she live? How old is she?" the blonde was bombarded by questions from the black haired friend who obviously did not like the idea of either of them dating.
"She's no one. Forget I said anything" he replied but the look on Kokonoi's face made it obvious he needed to know. "I'm just thinking about the fight between the Black Bragons and Toman, nothing more."
Kokonoi did not belive him but dived back into his book. "What are you reading today?" Seishu asked slightly yawning. "A book on rivals" he replied dryly.
"....why?"
"I have to meet up for lunch with one of my biggest rivals. I need to be prepared for anything."
".... Oh you mean that Pluto you're always mumbling about. Izana wants them to join the Black Dragons" it was unusual to see Kokonoi happy about something, it was clear he was enjoying the new competition and the thrill of it. It made Inui happy for him.
His obsession was switching to something else. "Why are you smiling?" Kokonoi asked and Inui did not even realize he was, he averted his gaze to the bookshelf and his eye slightly widened when he saw two young girls piling a bunch of physic text books.
One had very long white hair and blue eyes, the other had blonde sandy hair and eyes. They were looking lost as they kept on piling up books.
"Looks like you aren't the only one who's into books" Inupi said pointing in the direction of the girls, he really did not understand the fascination behind books. Kokonoi glanced in the direction of the girls, his gaze sharpened on the girls.
"They're probably just picking random books, those are advanced physics textbooks" Kokonoi said before returning to his book but the he stopped.
'Didn't Ran say Pluto was a girl? Way too smart' he glanced in the direction of the girls once more, shaking his head from the nonsensical thoughts. 'Wait what if one of them is actually Pluto? There's a high possibility. '
"Koko. Where are you going?" Seishu asked as his friend got up from his seat, he watched confused as Kokonoi waded his way to the girls. It was not far from where he was sitting.
"Excuse... Me but those books aren't there a bit too advanced" he said to the girls pointing at the mountain of books on the white haired one and he sweat dropped. "Or heavy?" he added.
The blonde haired one chuckled, "no they aren't for us. They're for our friend, I think she believes she's figured out how to make what she calls smart phones" she deadpanned.
"And I'm strong so I don't mind" the other one chirped louder making Kokonoi tilt his head at the first friend. "A smart phone?" he asked.
"I also don't know but she's been weird lately. She keeps on rambling about technology and the future" the blonde haired one said.
"And yesterday she made a bomb from scrap, she's smart but I think she's emotionally dumb" The white haired one whispered the last part.
The other one sighed, "she's been avoiding facing her feelings eversince he friend cut her off."
Kokonoi was interested but stopped himself from inquiring more. "A bomb from scratch?" Seishu interrupted impressed by the unknown genius.
"Yeah she made it using stuff from around the house. She's so cool, I wanna marry her" the white haired one answered hearts forming in her eyes.
"Anyway. I'm Emma and this is Fuyumi" the blonde said before things got awkward.
"Oh sorry for the rudeness. I'm Hajime Kokonoi and this is my friend Inupi" he faked a smile And Inui noticed it.
"Nice to meet you."
"Wait so I have to return to school?" you asked disappointed. You really did not want to go back there you had too many fond memories with Hanma in that school.
"Yes the guy's that were causing the deaths have been caught. Apparently they were getting revenge for their little sister by killing anyone with the name Y/N as some kind of death threat to their enemies" Kento explained to you guys sitting on the couch.
"So that's it? I go back to school and pretend nothing happened?" you asked once again not satisfied with the outcome. You did not belive a word they were saying at all.
"I guess so. You should be excited now you can return to the library books by yourself" Kento sounded enthusiastic as always. "And take down a notch you're kid you shouldn't be trying to solve problems related to space."
You didn't say a word instead you only glared at him. He nervously said goodbye before running out the front door with tears.
"Finally" Haruto relaxed knowing that you were now safe. But you had a feeling the Haitani brothers had something to do with this. Now your family could relax.
"But Y/N why did you suddenly want to solve problems relating to space?" Ai asked.
You huffed at how everyone was thinking it was a space problem, "I was designing a new airplane model that should be named one of the fastest planes. I was using the books to make proper and accurate calculations. I was also using the book to study the structure of the planes."
They all sweatdropped. 'Is this really our Y/N' they thought at the same time.
"But I failed. I was only able to make blue prints for a new gun, it should shoot faster than your average pistol."
"That's cool but Y/N aren't you too smart? It's starting to worry me" Kyoko said holding her stomach her face turning blue.You paused and looked at all of them to see they had the same expression. "No I'm not, I just like learning new interesting stuff."
They just chose to believe you. That day you spent the whole day with Kyoko learning basic first aid, it was really interesting. You liked it, you added it to your very long list of skills although your hands got a bit shaky when you remembered how the teddy bears life depended on you and that was too much pressure.
The next day when you returned to school people gave you pitiful looks, you usually loved attention but it was all overwhelming and the worst part was when you went to class hoping to see Hanma inside but his spot was empty.
You ignored all the gazes of your class mates and walked upto Himiko who squeezed you into hug, Chiyo joined in on the hug and you were barely able to breathe but you still smiled knowing atleast people cared.
After the long hug you questioned them about Hanma but romur was he transferred, this hurt your feelings and snuck out of school with Himiko's help.
You sighed as you found yourself at the door of a library in Shinjuku, you had no idea why you were suddenly attracted to this specific library but you knew damn well they had the best text books on advanced maths and physics.
"Are you stalking me?" You heard a very familiar voice you turned around to see Seishu standing next to a dark haired guy with cat eyes. It had been so long since you had seen him and you couldn't help but tackle him into a hug, he tried to push you off him but gave up after a while accepting his fate.
"SEI! IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU. THIS IS DESTINY" you spoke in a loud squeaky voice that you knew annoyed him to the very core. You let go off him to notice his friend, he was quite handsome.
"I almost forgot how much I missed you" he remarked sarcastically.
"Oh wow. I didn't take you for the type to have friends Inui" you commented, asking yourself if everyone in this world was just as good looking as the main cast.
"Just exactly what kind of guy do you think I am?"
"Trust me you don't want to find out. Anyway hi," you turned to his friend. "I'm Amajiki Y/N. Inupi's friend"
"We aren't friends." You giggled nugding his shoulder, "sure we aren't" you winked at him and he deadpanned.
'So this is... Y/N' he thought eying you from head to bottom there really was nothing out of the ordinary except your overly loud voice. "Hajime Kokonoi."
Your throat felt dry at his introduction, you wanted to meet him as Pluto not as Y/N. "Oh... Okay."
"What brings you to the library?" Kokonoi asked trying to see what type of person Inui thought about half the time, to the point where he would whisper your name in his sleep.
"Oh... I'm here to study more on Astrophysics. What about you?" Inui was already lost while Kokonoi was surprised.
"... I'm here to read more books on money" he replied as you three went inside. You weren't your separate ways since the books you wanted were on different sections. You picked a few books on astrophysics before going back to find the duo, Inui was already napping with his head on the table while Kokonoi's eyes were glued to his books.
You sat your stack of books on the table, taking out your notepad you used for short notes and a pen. Kokonoi peeked up from his book to take a look at you but to his surprise you were flipping through the pages while noting somethings down.
"That's a bit advanced. Isn't that book in French?" he asked.
"It is. But I speak French. The book you're reading right now is in English. Can you understand?"
"I understand English."
"So this is how you learned to make money, through reading books it's quite interesting" you smile over at him.
He had a surprised Pikachu face.
"Don't act so shocked Genius. You're well known" you say. "But I wonder what motivated you."
He clenched his fist as tragic memories came flooding his head, things he tried his best to forget. "It's none of your business" he replied rudely.
You shrugged your shoulders. "I guess it's not but have you read the book 'Think and Grow rich' it gives some great pointers."
"I actually have it's a great book, actually one of the books that helped me understand how things worked."
"If I'm being honest it was the first book I read but then at some point I got bored and moved into astrophysics."
He wanted to ask why but didn't. "I guess it's also good." You smiled as you two kept on discussing more books and authors. It was nice to talk to someone who was on your academic level.
Inui woke up from the chatter. ".... what are you guys discussing about so loudly?" he asked rubbing the sleep away from his eyes, he looked at the clock and four hours had passed.
You took your opportunity. "We were discussing how cute you are when sleeping" you mused. "Weirdo" he brashly commented, sitting up straight a pink hue dusting his cheeks which did not go unnoticed by Kokonoi.
