Kuragari happily showed you two inside the dark abondoned bar, Hanma walking closely behind you.
"Master are you sure you don't need a mask?" Kuragari asked once again just outside, another door that would lead to the office. He hesitantly grabbed the door knob waiting for your approval.
"I'm sure. The Haitani brothers don't take me seriously because I wear a mask. They see that as a sign of fear or weakness, by not wearing my mask I'm showing them that I'm not scared" you explained. Tired of people not taking Pluto seriously but they took Hanma seriously.
He opened the door and your mouth hung open, drooling at the sight of some yummy looking Men. One was seating on the desk, resting his arm on his knee while the taller one was leaning against the wall. Both had long shoulder length hair, and bangs.
One had bright blonde hair and light blue hair right beneath the blonde. He was beautifully tanned and had round circular glasses. The other's hair was dyed top part was black, middle part blonde and the lower part black creating a beautiful pattern.
The brothers only had one thing in common, their tired downtown violet eyes. They were beautiful that you stood frozen. "Eh? What's going on Master? You're blocking the way" Kuragari spoke trying to pull you out of your trance which Hanma noticed.
He gently walked past you brushing his shoulder. Kuragari was confused on what was wrong with you but closed the door nonetheless. Now you all were in the same room.
"What's going on here? Where's that infamous Pluto?!" The shorter one asked clearly annoyed that someone was disrespecting them. He was about to get up to throw someone hands when his brother spoke.
"Rindou, calm down" he bounced off the wall, shooting a cold glare at Kuragari and he felt a cold chill run down his spine. "Explain, what is this kid doing here? We were promised Pluto" he growled.
Hanma remained a calm, a smirk curling up on his lips as he eyed you from the corner of his eye. But he eye slightly twitched seeing you in a daze.
"Pluto is here" Kuragari replied. The two brothers glanced at one another, then at you. "Her?!" they both shouted in unison snapping you out of your trance.
"Huh? What's going on?" you asked dumbfounded. That didn't help your case. "Master they're doubting you" Kuragari whispered into your ear.
"Oh. Yeah I'm Pluto! The one and only money making genius after Kokonoi Hajime" you introduced yourself with a peace sign. How you knew Kokonoi? He was your biggest competitor and you respected him even though you had never met him. "You must be the Haitani brothers I asumme?"
"Is this a joke?" Rindou asked looking at Hanma. "Jokes are meant to be funny but sadly we don't have time for that tonight" Hanma spoke in his usual playful tone. "I like this one" the taller one spoke referring to Hanma.
You rolled your eyes. "We'll play along but sit down so we can talk business" the one on the desk said pointing to the chair in the middle of the room.
There was only one chair and three of you. "Shuji, sit down I don't mind standing" you said smiling at him. "Whatever" he plopped down on the chair while you and Kuragari stood on either side of him.
"Care to tell us the reason why you are so against our business?" you start, regretting your choice of standing up. You felt awkward.
"Roppongi is our turf. Anything that goes on in here has to be done with your permission" the taller one spoke.
"I'm sorry but can you introduce yourselves. I just know wanna which brother is which" you interrupted.
"I'm Haitani Rindou my older brother is Haitani Ran," the one with glasses spoke. You resisted the urge to flirt with him trying to remember the fact that you were a minor but your soul was literally around their age. It wouldn't be a problem.
"Oh good. Now you can continue" you nod your head for him to continue. Hanma noticed how uncomfortable you felt standing up, he didn't care you had said you didn't mind standing.
"We don't want Faceless messing around with our turf, that makes us look bad" the one named Ran explained.
You nodded your head understanding what they meant. "You want us to pay tax. How much do you want?" you ask rolling your eyes. It's always about money.
Ran laughed sarcastically at what you had said. "It's not about tax. We want to take down Faceless, we have already got our making genius" Rindou hopped off the desk and your guard was up.
"How are you going to do that?" you ask cautiously. Shooting Kuragari a look, that meant if things go bad run. You didn't think you could take them in a fight but if things weren't bad then that's how it would happen.
"Simple. We take out the leader but we can't hit a little girl" Ran said standing next to his brother. Hanma got up from his seat.
"You have already got your own money making genius you say?" you repeat their words calmly, you didn't see a reason why Faceless needed to be taken out. "But I don't think that's enough reason to go against a whole organization. If Kokonoi wanted competition I would take him for the guy who would personally destroy us, but it's just you two."
Hanma was confused the more you kept talking while the Haitani brothers got more agitated by the second."Tell me what exactly is your plan here?"
"Simple we destroy Faceless" The one with glasses said through gritted teeth, you were treating them like a bunch of idiots.
"And then what?"
Silence answered you.
"See, you won't benefit from taking down Faceless. In fact the only thing you'll be doing is making the biggest loss of a century."
Again silence.
"Rindou, i would expect you to make a decision that benefits you. Imagine having two money making Geniuses on your side. Ready to be used at anytime" you pause smiling a little. "I wonder how much money you'll make."
Ran's lips twitched upward as he threw a punch at your face, he stopped only an inche away from your face and all their eyes widened seeing your stoic expression. You hadn't flinched.
The older brother stepped back laughing maniacally, impressed by how you were able to keep your coo while his little brother's curled up into an entertained grin. The two on your side nodded their heads as a sign of respect.
'That scared the fuck out of me' you internally cried at almost getting your teeth knocked out. You didn't think Seishu would ever love you if you didn't have any and Baji would never make you forget that. 'These two brothers are crazy. But hot. Mostly crazy.'
"Well I've gotta say kid you're interesting" Ran laughed his eyes glowing a dark dangerous purple, those were eyes of predator.
"Brother, I'm starting to think we should actually hear them out" Rindou and grabbing his brothers shoulder the same dark glint in his bored eyes.
You sighed relieved that they were gonna hear you out, it may have seemed you were calm on the outside but the things happening in your head was chaotic. You were doing what people called winging it.
"You let us do business on your turf. We pay you tax but on the condition that you solve something for me. If you don't like the offer we could take our business elsewhere" you said.
"Wait make that two things" you quickly added. The brothers nodded signaling you to state your conditions.
"First one is, I want to meet with Hajime Kokonoi. Second is finding out who's behind the Y/N assassinations" the two brothers shot each other confused looks about the second demand but agreed nonetheless.
"Alright we'll look into the assassinations but don't think for one second we work under you" Ran said. He needed to make it clear that the Haitani Brothers did not work for anyone. Not even Pluto.
"But you're gonna have give us a hefty amount of money" Rindou said. Grinning wildly as he bent down to your height, so your noses were touching.
"Deal."
"So this a beginning of a new partnership...." Hanma said, shoving his hands in his pockets a bit disappointed that there wasn't going to be a fight but was okay with the new found partnership.
"I guess it is" Rindou yawned stepping away from you and back to his brother.
***
You sighed as you took of your helmet, getting off from Hanma's bike. You hand him his helmet, he was dropping you off three houses away from yours.
Then you remembered something. "Shuji, you know we're partners right?" you start suppressing your anger.
"Yeah what about it?" He replied getting off his bike as well feeling like you had a lot to say.
"Then why does it not feel like that? Everytime something goes wrong, I'm the one to handle it and instead of solving the problem on your own you start beating up our workers."
"So you're upset about a few losers that couldn't even put up a fight" he cocked his head to the side, eyebrows kneading in frustration at the thought of you worrying over a bunch of nobodies.
"No what I'm upset about is that I had to pay for their medical bills with my money" you hissed remembering how much their money was taken from your bank account when Kuragari paid the bills. The money used was not from Faceless but yours.
He tilts his head more confused. "I can pay you back the money nothing to worry about."
"It's not just that" you said. "Shuji we're partners but you don't act like it. You avoided me eversince we started Faceless, you neglected your work and I had to cover for you but you never thanked me for any of that or even appreciate any of that."
"I neglected my work?" he cocked up an eyebrow his aura turning into a dark one. "Y/N who's the one taking a two week vacation? I also cover up for you."
A vacation is that what he thought about your family try to protect you?
About you trying to stay alive.
Your eyes widened as the realization hit you. He seriously did not give a fuck about you, from day one. "You off all people should know it's not a vacation, Shuji. And your way of covering for me isn't handling the Roppongi issue instead you hit our workers."
"Yes I hit them because that Kokonoi that you want to meet so much is stealing information from Faceless. If you cared enough to ask you would've known that those worthless pieces of shit were going to sell our information."
Your lip twitched. "How the fuck was i supposed to know that?! It's not I'm a freaking prophet! You have to tell I don't have ask you?!"
"Oh so what you're suddenly my boss?!" he really did not like arguing but eversince Faceless started you had not treated him like a servant not an equal. Everyone knew that Pluto was the Face of Faceless not him, his name was just something attached to it.
He didn't care but now you were treating like one of his employees. "Shuji, we're partners. We're supposed to communicate, what kind of partnership works without communication."
You paused realizing this argument was going nowhere. "Maybe we aren't meant to be partners in this lifetime" he said, biting his bottom lip scratching his cheek.
Those were the words you dreaded the most.
