Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 -- Assessment

While Bai Yue was preparing dinner, eating, and turning in for the night, a quiet storm was already brewing across the internal forums of Limit Home.

That afternoon, seven newly uploaded cultivation methods had been pinned to the very top of the secret manual section.

Almost every logged-in martial artist noticed them immediately.

Although Limit Home was open to all registered martial artists, internal members of the Dojo of Limits enjoyed significant privileges—most notably, half-price purchases once they met the required contribution level. As a result, curiosity spread at astonishing speed.

The first manual most people opened was Iron Block.

Iron Block — Defensive Secret Technique

Enhances physical defense through specialized force-exertion methods.

Below it were the prices:

Then came Moon Step.

Moon Step — Aerial Movement Secret Manual

Allows practitioners to move freely through the air via specialized force control.

"Shave."

"Paper Art."

And several other techniques followed.

Aside from the free body-refining manual, the remaining six each filled a different niche—defense, speed, evasion, burst movement—precisely the areas Earth martial artists lacked the most.

The response was explosive.

User Li**: "This is a life-saving divine skill! Flying has always been exclusive to Planetary-level experts. With this, as long as you avoid flying monsters and King-level beasts, you're practically untouchable!"

User Danny**: "The guy above is fearless—already talking about provoking King-level monsters."

User Park**: "Iron Block is incredible. Pure defense enhancement? How did no one think of this before?"

User Murakami**: "Moon Step is still the most practical."

User **: "Bought all of them. Orders placed (^ω^)"

A screenshot of completed purchases followed.

"…Rich bastard."

The comment section promptly derailed into collective condemnation of the wealthy. As more buyers joined the discussion, the topic continued to ferment across multiple subforums.

None of this reached Bai Yue.

The next morning, he woke to a continuous stream of notifications.

When Bai Yue glanced at his communication watch, he froze.

Transaction alerts were still popping up.

He checked his balance.

37,250,000,000 hua xia coin.

For a long moment, Bai Yue simply stared.

"…This is real?"

He had earned less than five billion over half a year of life-and-death battles in the Wilderness Area. And now, overnight, the number had multiplied several times over.

"So selling secret manuals is this profitable…" he muttered.

For a fleeting instant, the thought of switching careers—focusing purely on research and development—crossed his mind.

Then he shook his head.

In the future he knew, Undying would be nothing special. Beings capable of reversing time, collapsing space, or creating entire worlds would emerge one after another. Compared to that, money was merely a tool.

"Calm down," he told himself, exhaling slowly. "The financial problem is solved. Now I cultivate."

Just as he was about to return to training, his communicator rang again.

The caller ID made his brows rise slightly.

Zhuge Tao.

One of the four giants of the Dojo of Limits.

"Bai Yue," Zhuge Tao's gentle voice came through, "where are you right now?"

"At home, cultivating," Bai Yue replied. "Is something wrong?"

"The headquarters' special envoy is arriving ahead of schedule. Come to the main dojo immediately to undergo the assessment."

"…So early?" Bai Yue frowned slightly. There were still several days left according to the original plan.

"I received the notice suddenly as well," Zhuge Tao said. "I contacted you the moment I heard."

"I understand. I'll leave right away."

After hanging up, Bai Yue packed quickly. He already knew the reason—there was only one thing that could cause the headquarters to adjust their timeline.

The techniques.

At the same time, above Jiangnan Base City's airport, the sky rippled.

A dark blue, disc-shaped passenger craft appeared as if teleporting, then rapidly decelerated, passing cleanly through the city's defense system before descending.

Its diameter exceeded thirty meters, and a faintly oppressive aura radiated from its hull.

As the craft landed, the hatch opened and a ramp extended.

The four giants of the Dojo of Limits stepped forward to receive the visitors, accompanied by more than a dozen senior figures.

"Old Yang, you finally arrived," Zhou Yongzheng, president of Limit Home, greeted with a smile.

"So this is for Bai Yue's assessment?" Zhou continued. "Eighteen years old, already a God of War, with Mental Power reaching God of War level as well. That alone qualifies him for the Elite Training Camp. Let's grab a drink first—it's been eight years."

"Eight years indeed," Yang Hui replied, smiling faintly. "But this matter is important. We'll eat after the assessment. Zhuge, is your brother still in the Base City?"

"He went to City 003 to polish his marksmanship," Zhuge Tao answered.

"He's aiming to break through beyond the God of War level," Yang Hui said with emotion. "The Dojo Master once said he's the most promising."

The group soon departed for the main dojo together.

When they arrived, Bai Yue had just stepped inside.

After brief formalities, everyone moved directly to the strength-testing area.

"Begin," Yang Hui said.

Bai Yue stepped forward.

Bang!

His punch broke the sound barrier, the shockwave tearing the air apart as it slammed into the tester.

Numbers flashed:

17087. 17049.

"Mid-level God of War," Zhou Yongzheng exclaimed. "He was only at the entry level days ago. Excellent—truly excellent."

"Next, Mental Power," Yang Hui said, his eyes sharp.

Flying blades shot out.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh.

The display refreshed again:

37122. 37105.

Speed. Reaction. Nerve response.

An average movement speed of 205 meters per second, with reaction time rivaling a High-level God of War.

Flawless.

"Pack up," Yang Hui said decisively. "You'll return to headquarters with me tomorrow."

Bai Yue nodded calmly. He had been preparing for this day all along.

Afterwards, Yang Hui stayed behind to reunite with old acquaintances, while Bai Yue returned home to pack his belongings.

The path ahead was clear.
