Vikir dashed towards his right, where the crowd was thinner. Bending down once he was a few feet away from one of the guards, Vikir lunged forward and up like a spring, one foot planting itself squarely in the guard's face.
"Freedom-"
An explosion rippled through the hall, as if a bomb had been set off somewhere below. The ground shook the moment Vikir touched the ground, throwing him off balance and off his feet.
Tumbling for a few meters, the young man barely caught his bearings, his red hair in a mess from the action. Bewildered, Vikir watched as cracks began to form in the walls and ground, revealing empty darkness beneath.
Where there was supposed to be light from the outside, or a reveal of a lower floor, there was only darkness. It was as if reality had forgotten to load into existence in these cracks.
