Chapter 10 - Who we are

He snapped out of his gaze and finally acknowledged the man. With tears in his eyes, he finally looked at the man and declared, "This, this will be my new home."

"That, my friend, is not up to you to decide. You see those two men guarding the entrance right there? Go over to them and request an audience with the queen," the short man turned and left without waiting for a thanks.

Following the man's instructions, Sam approached the two guards with the most friendly smile he could muster.

"Hello fello denizens, may I please request an audience with the quee—"

"No."

"No."

The two said almost simultaneously. Sam pulled out his scouter to check their power level. "Hmm, 110 and 102 respectively, not bad I guess."

"Look man, I'm just tryna—"

"No."

"No."

Realizing that he wasn't getting anywhere with the two, Sam thought about using violence but decided against it; he would surely lose.

Pooling all the saliva that was available in his mouth, he spat to the ground and left. Damn namekian dwarves, he thought bitterly as he left.

He began wandering around the bustling city of greens and life.

Everything he saw was made of trees and vines, down to the chairs and tables the inhabitants used.

Feeling hungry and curious about what they had to offer as food, he wandered around looking for any type of food stall. What he saw as he stumbled upon a place of trade left a bitter taste in his mouth.

It was all fruits and vegetables. Granted, he had no problem with fruits, but he hadn't eaten since being isekaied, and he was craving some real food. And, by real food, he meant meat and rice.

He looked around in frustration before leaving. Taking flight to the skies, he flew back to his pod. There he grabbed his rations and began eating them. I'll go hunt later, he thought.

Eating only enough to subdue his hunger, he put the rest away in his pod and closed it.

As of right now, he could do three things: train to get stronger so he can hunt, go ask the denizens where he could find beasts to hunt, or go look for the beasts to hunt himself.

Either way, all three options required him to hunt, and since he needed an ample food supply for proper training, he decided on option two.

One hour later, and he's back in the bustling city. He walked up to a random stranger and asked, "Good morning, stranger, do you happen to know where I could find beats to hunt?"

The alien looked him up and down and answered him nothing. He was shocked. What's wrong with these people? They seemed so detached and rude.

Another stranger who happened to be passing by answered him instead, "You seem to be a foreigner, kind traveler. We Verdalians do not eat meat, nor do we have any type of livestock inhabiting our planet. Maybe with some luck you can try the planet next door," she said before bouncing off.

"Man, what the fuck is up with these weird-ass people and this weird-ass planet!!?" Screamed Sam in frustration.

"What got you all worked up, Sammy boy? Need to lay the belt on somebody, just let me know, 🎶I'm only one, call away, I'll be there to save, the da—🎶"

"Would you shut the hell up!"

Sam was starting to lose his shit, and he swore he felt a strange sensation in his back reacting to his anger.

Samuel, of course, only came out when he's agitated; not being any help whatsoever.

He stood in the city square feeling like a lost child at a circus. To make matters worse, he was actually missing his mom right now.

He looked at the ground as tears neared his eyes. He hated feeling anxious, and he most definitely hated the feeling of weakness.

He bit his lip in anger as he fought back tears.

Samuel, on the other hand, withdrew back to the mind realm, watching everything through his eyes.

He didn't want to start laughing aloud, so he went in the mind space to do it instead. The minute he was there, he busted out laughing and rolling on the ground.

What a damn loser. Maybe if he had some brain cells he would use the knowledge we have about ki before isekaing to grow stronger, but no, just look at him out there crying like a lost puppy; damn wimp.

Samuel barely finished his thoughts before sensing a dangerous aura behind him. He turned around just in time to catch a fist to the face. He flipped back a few times before coming to an abrupt stop. He looked up in frustration.

"Man, what the FUCK is your problem!!"

"My problem is having a parasite in my mind who laughs at my misery. If I'm suffering, you're gonna suffer too, bitch."

"I've had enough of your shit. You think you're the boss because you came before me. Imma beat your ass and lock you in here forever."

"Save it, I need ideas to grow stronger, and you're gonna help me. I don't have time to fight with you."

"Man, what the fuck? You just started a fight and now you're saying you don't wanna fight?…"

"You bipolar piece of shit, what's wrong with you?"

"Ehe eha hahahahaha."

Samuel grabbed his dreads and started laughing wildly.

In his mind space, he retained the way he looked from his previous life, but his outward appearance is that of a black Saiyan child with a large Afro.

He laughed maniacally as the stress finally caught up to his brain. He couldn't take it anymore, and his mental was on the verge of collapse.

All of a sudden, he was snapped out of the mind realm and brought back to the physical realm. Standing before him was a green alien with feminine features and motherly warmth.

"You've been standing here crying for the last couple of minutes, are you ok?"

Sam looked at her, and without meaning to, he mumbled, "Mom."

Immediately afterward, he covered his mouth to try and stop the word from escaping him, but he was clearly too late.

The plant-like alien looked at him with understanding and warmth. She hugged him and said, "If you need a place to rest for the night, you can stop by my place. It's not much, but it'll give you comfort."

Nodding his head in response, Sam followed the stranger home.
