Sofa Conversations
Lucien and Bayonetta sat on the grand Lionhardt sofa, the fire crackling softly in the background.
Lucien stared at her, curiosity and awe mixed in his gaze.
"…So… why do you call me your lover?" he asked gently.
Bayonetta tilted her head, her silver eyes gleaming.
"I've waited for you for a very long time," she said softly. "Long before I met the Peverell brothers. When you were born… I was told to wait. Wait for you."
Lucien blinked.
"Wait… for me? Before you even met the Peverells?"
Bayonetta nodded, serene yet powerful.
Lucien tilted his head and asked his system:
"System… was I born before now?"
The system's calm, mechanical voice replied:
"No information is available regarding this inquiry, Host."
Lucien exhaled and nodded.
"…I'm sorry for making you wait."
Bayonetta's lips curved into a soft smile. She leaned forward and hugged him tightly.
"You don't need to apologize. I can wait another eternity for my lover," she whispered.
Lucien's heart warmed. Even for someone as ancient and powerful as Death, he could feel… happiness, relief, and love.
He smiled and said, teasingly, "Instead of calling you Death all the time… how about I just call you Bayonetta?"
Bayonetta chuckled softly, her voice melodic.
"I like that. I will answer to Bayonetta."
And with that, Lucien and Bayonetta curled up together on the sofa, tails and hair mingling, and drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Three Days Later: Introducing Bayonetta
Three days later, the Lionhardt mansion was buzzing with its usual energy.
Lucien gathered the household:
Gamma and Yasaka Venelana and Claire Grayfia, Velgrynd, Akeno, Sylpha And of course, Angelina
Lucien took a deep breath.
"There's someone I want all of you to meet," he said, gesturing toward Bayonetta, who appeared calmly in the doorway, elegant as ever.
"Everyone… this is Bayonetta," Lucien announced.
The household blinked. Gamma raised an eyebrow. Grayfia arched her head slightly. Even Venelana and Claire's tails twitched with curiosity.
"She… is Death," Lucien continued, "from the stories of the Deathly Hallows. But not just that… she's been waiting for me for… a very long time."
Bayonetta stepped forward gracefully, bowing slightly.
"Pleased to meet you all. I am honored to finally know the companions and family of my master… Lucien."
The household was initially stunned.
"Death?" Akeno whispered.
"Master?" Velgrynd muttered.
Angelina's jaw dropped.
Then Lucien explained:
"I am a Peverell descendant. Bayonetta… she has waited for me since before I was born. She's… my partner."
Bayonetta's silver eyes softened as she added, gently:
"It made me sad to wait so long… but seeing him safe and surrounded by such wonderful people… I am grateful."
Venelana and Claire exchanged glances and quietly smiled, feeling the warmth in the room.
By the end of the introduction, Bayonetta had already begun bonding with the household.
Gamma nodded approvingly.
Yasaka shared a small grin.
Grayfia's poker face softened slightly.
Velgrynd gave a faint approving nod.
Akeno tilted her head, intrigued.
Sylpha's soft smile showed curiosity.
Venelana and Claire gave Bayonetta twin nods of acceptance.
And Angelina, still blushing, whispered, "…She's actually… really cool."
Lucien watched all of them, quietly happy.
For the first time, everyone—including Death herself—felt like a family.
And somewhere in the back of his mind, Lucien knew…
With Bayonetta by his side, nothing could ever threaten the Lionhardt household again.
