Chapter 3 - All It Takes Is One Bad Day (3)

Sorry but this is a very short chapter I know this may not be written the best I'll edit and go through it tomorrow

_________________________________________

Hikaru walked slowly down the streets of Konoha; when looking at him, you'd notice four things. Blood, which stained his clothes slightly; his right leg, which held a slight limp; his left hand, which held his left side, the type of thing others only did when in pain from an injury; and ultimately his emotionless face, only focused on continuing forward.

All around him people kept their distance, their gazes shifting away in fear, afraid of meeting Hikaru's sea green eyes. Whether this were due to his disheveled appearance, as if he was a dead man walking, or the fact that he was seen with Konoha resident demon fox, he couldn't say.

'If I knew we could get people to leave us alone by scaring them a bit, I would've made you do it a long time ago.' Inner commented dryly.

He watched as villagers parted around Hikaru, their gazes shifting away as they walked hurriedly, their steps uncertain as if they were walking anywhere that could get them away from Hikaru.

The same people who looked down on him with arrogance as open as the sea, who spoke as if they were judges, executioners, and saints all in one, now refused to look at him with the same so-called 'righteousness' they paraded around with mere hours ago.

But he knew despite how they acted there was no righteousness in their hatred and none in their fear either. But despite this, he knew none of them changed, not at all, not their morals or beliefs, only the balance of power, which for some reason now tipped in his and Hikaru's favor.

But despite this fact, Inner felt no rush of victory or anger, only a realization that was always there but he never acknowledged: there had never been anything wrong with what they did to them, and there was nothing right about their fear now.

They weren't better people when they stood over him like he was a mere bug, and they weren't worse people when they shrank away. As his thoughts churned, his heart swayed away from the path he and Hikaru walked for five years. Inner couldn't help but think about a question Hikaru had already begun to ask himself.

If restraint never helped him and endurance brought only more pain in return, then what meaning did either even have in the first place? The thought lingered in Inner's mind, the question unresolved, and as a result of their connection, the question began to grow in Hikaru's mind, but despite it, neither confided in the other.

'We're here.' Hikaru said, pulling Inner out of his thoughts, his tone as emotionless as ever as they stopped in front of a two-story building. The first floor featured an orange tiled roof. Open windows on either side and rows of flowers, which lined the outside, each a different color, shape, and size, arranged with perfection.

'So what's the plan? You know we can't just waltz in there, especially into Yamanaka clan territory, who, I may add, is the clan that hates us more than anyone in the entirety of Khonogakure,' Inner asked, unmasked uncertainty plastered across his face.

'As I've said before, you can read my thoughts.' Hikaru responded flatly, 'Figure it out yourself.'

'And as I've said, that's invasive and boring.' Inner shot back, his tone holding slight mockery, "So chop chop, we don't have all day."

'Just back me up and be ready for pain.' Hikaru warned as he began forming hand seals.

Ram – Snake – Tiger

Inner seeing this shot up, his tone changed from mockery to urgency. "Did Uchiha Akito kick you too hard? You only learned the theory behind the Jutsu, and may I add, you only spent 10 minutes on it. You think you can just attempt a—" Inner cut himself off as his words died in his mouth, his jaw dropping to the floor.

(A/N He only learned this jutsu so fast due to it being rooted in Yin and an illusionary technique, so expect this learning speed for Yin and only Yin-based techniques, though the more difficult ones will probably take longer. I repeat, this does not work for any elemental or yang-based techniques.

'You're joking; this should be impossible.' Inner couldn't help but say, As a perfect illusionary clone appeared, even Inner was having trouble differentiating even though the real Hiruko was the one he was currently in.

'I know it's not you, but it looks so real,' Inner commented in surprise.

'What can I say? I'm a genius.' Hiruko said his tone was still emotionless, though Inner was sure Hiruko had a tiny bit of cockiness in his tone.

"Distract the clerk for as long as you can while I sneak in and get Mom her flowers," Hikaru said as he turned to his clone, who simply nodded in response as both went their separate ways.

Hikaru jumped to the rooftop of the building to the left of the Yamanaka shop, watched, and slightly turned back his gaze, watching the Clone Hikaru walk into the flower shop. After a few minutes his clone ran out, dodging a kick from a blond-haired man who had light green eyes and long platinum blond hair that went to his waist.

He ran outside chasing the clone of Hikaru, a wooden bat in his face, his face scrunched up in anger as he chased Hikaru relentlessly.

'Let's go.' Hikaru said internally to Inner as he jumped to the Yamanaka shop roof, bending down and sliding open a window as he flipped in, landing on the wooden floor of the shop.
