The god complained as it tried to make sense of what had just happened. Its shield held back the attack for a few seconds before it broke under the pressure.
Andrew immediately took this chance to launch his attack. Due to his higher level, he was able to close the distance between himself and the god that had become the boss of this level.
'Darn it-! How is this human so strong? We should not have such a huge level difference between us…just what is going on here?'
The god complained in his mind as he tried to avoid getting hit. The system was of no help to him since he could not check the human's details.
So it had no choice but to try and deceive the human.
"Hey, what do you think you are doing? Do you really think you can attack me and win? I am a god. I am an existence beyond you humans. If you continue like this-"
The next blast landed on the god's face, causing immediate damage to his vocal cords.
Usually, that would not have been a problem because it would have healed itself within seconds. But due to being bound as a boss and being level 14, all those abilities had been sealed.
"Ugh, how dare you, human…"
The god raised his hand before making a squeezing motion. Pillars made of rock shot toward Andrew, but he dodged them before launching a counterattack.
Andrew wasted no time in buffing himself as much as he could. Based on his experience, a level 14 boss had cooldowns for its attacks. Now that the entity in front of him had used them all, it was vulnerable.
The next attack was going to decide the fate of this battle.
"You stupid human…! You are no match for me. Now witness-"
The god snapped its fingers, but nothing happened.
The god's eyes widened in shock as it looked at what was happening.
"W-Why…?"
The god questioned as Andrew prepared his final attack.
"What's wrong? You cannot use your abilities? Of course, a being like you is not used to the cooldowns that come with being a boss, right? After all, you never expected a human to challenge you."
The god gritted its teeth as the final attack hit it and its body started to break down.
"D-Darn it…! I-If only…I was not…bound…"
It tried to walk toward Andrew and get one last attack in but failed to do so.

The world around Andrew started to fade as the game came to an end, and it was time to head back home.
One by one, people appeared back on Earth, their confused faces looking at each other before letting out joyous laughter at what had just happened.
"W-We survived again…"
"What about the god? Where is it? Did something happen?"
"But the system did not say anything? T-The countdown for the next game has started…?"
Andrew looked at the system countdown as well before opening the reward list he had gotten for defeating the hidden boss.

These rewards were truly great, and Andrew wanted to choose the system gold this time. But the other two items were too amazing to give up.
The Essence of Mana was something that would allow him to ascend his profession and open higher classes. At least, that was what he had heard from others before.
Andrew had never been able to get his hands on one himself, so choosing that was a no-brainer move.
As for the other reward, it had to be the Level Up Capsule.
Gold was important, but a level up could save me in a pinch. Besides, I could earn gold later as well…
"I keep saying this, but I really do need to find a hidden quest to earn more gold as soon as possible. The items in the system are going to get expensive soon."
That was a problem for a future me. For now, I had accomplished my mission, and I was going to relax and plan for the next mission.

The system's blue screen illuminated the faces of all the leaders gathered around the round table. The current meeting was being held between different entities that were tasked by the system to organize the game.
No one knew what the system was or why it had appeared, and no one around the table wanted to question it either.
After all, those who questioned the system ended up disappearing and were never seen again.
"Huh-? A system meeting? So soon? I feel like we just replaced someone from there a few days back. Has the divine realm really fallen so far that we need to replace two representatives already? Huh, Goddess Shanti?"
The elegant goddess who was being asked this question only sipped her tea quietly, not bothering to answer.
"Come on, stop teasing her. She is old and has started to lose her touch already. The system knows this as well, and that's why it wants to give the authority of the next game to someone else."
Loud laughter filled the area, but the goddess in question still did not reply. She only looked at the man who had made fun of her.
"Oh-! If you are so confident, then why don't you be the next one to host the game? I am sure the system would be more than happy to give you the opportunity, King Irebus."
The king in question let out a fang-filled smile before turning to look at the system and giving a small bow.
"Of course. I will be more than happy to take over this duty…if the system will allow me to."
The system blinked softly before dimming, and then a message appeared.

"Oh well, looks like the system agrees. In that case, I better go and make a good impression on the humans. It's all for the sake of the system and our future…let's make sure the alliance holds until the very end."
