Chapter 17 - Synergy of Cards & Decks

[ World Announcement! Player Ace is the first player to reach level 30. +10 stat points. +100 Gold. ]

"WHAAT!?"

"No way!"

"Level 30?!"

"What kind of hacker fuckery is this?"

"Shit, I got a notification to log out in three seconds. I want to play more!"

"How the heck is this guy doing it?"

The general public was naturally shocked, and uproar erupted everywhere.

But soon, another notification greeted everyone.

[ Congratulations. The first player Guild has been created by Player Ace. Guild Leaderboard has been unlocked. ]

"What? Guilds?!"

"Well, this type of game is incomplete without guilds."

"It seems the guild feature unlocks after we reach level 30."

"I am level 19 after grinding for eleven hours. Ranked 89th on the overall level leaderboard. Feels good."

Meanwhile, Axir was still roaming around with a purpose in mind as time passed.

Only ten minutes were left until it was time for him to log out, but before that, he wanted to get something important.

A Mimic Chest disguised as a Mystery Treasure Chest to get a new rare deck.

After moving through this level 50 forest, he arrived at its end, which was a huge cliff.

There were cave entrances in this cliff that one would only see after jumping down.

Those caves had elite monsters, treasure chests, and other resources.

Axir didn't waste time and quickly jumped, using Rocket Wings to stabilize himself before flying into a cave.

He forgot which cave had the Mystery Chest that was a Mimic, but there were four caves total, and he planned to check all of them in ten minutes and get all possible rewards from them.

The first cave he entered had a level 50 elite monster, the Shrillbuck Thunder Tiger.

[ Shrillbuck Thunder Tiger ]

Level: 50 | Elite

Power Level: 26,650

Constitution: 100

Agility: 80

Perception: 70

Arcane: 100

It was sleeping, so Axir instantly used Mimic Shifting and transformed himself into a pebble.

The exotic-looking tiger with big ears opened its eyes, then closed them again after seeing no one.

'Hmm, to defeat this one, I should use that blunt weapon. With Librated Drift, it won't be able to do anything, as I can instantly attack it constantly.'

[ Self-Domain: Librated Drift ]

-Card Quality: Prime 4-star

-Effect:

—> For ten seconds, you will be able to ignore all physical laws and restrictions to move through obstacles and fly freely, allowing you to move to any space within one hundred meters of yourself instantly. After ten seconds, your movement speed is increased by one hundred percent, and your attacks deal extra damage equal to one hundred percent of your Perception and Agility for one minute.

He had summoned two weapons of each classification so far, filling his armory to full, and he had a lot of fun with them in the past fifty minutes as he hunted monsters and leveled up.

But before diving into the fight, Axir distributed the stat points he had gained by leveling up, as he had been saving them after reaching level 30 since he could already easily kill all monsters in this level 50 area.

[ Axir Grimspire ]

Level: 37

Power Level: 39,490

Vitality: 660/660

Mana: 1000/1000

Constitution: 40 (+26 from artifact card)

Agility: 65

Perception: 40

Arcane: 100

Luck: 11

Charm: 1

-Shivanta Sunborn Artist Deck (Unique)

-Warrior's Path (Basic)

-Blue-Eyed Enchanter (Rare)

-Weapon Enchanter (Uncommon)

He added all thirty-five points into Agility, making it reach 100.

Afterward, he prepared two cards.

One was the blunt-type weapon from Ananta Sunborn Forge, the Roaring Impact Bat.

[ Roaring Impact Bat ]

Attack: 100 + (100% Constitution + Agility)

Cost: 10 Mana per successful hit

Roaring Blast Core:

Upon impact, unleash an outward blast with a powerful pushing force and stagger or stun the enemy.

It was a black baseball bat with roaring flame patterns designed across its surface.

The second card was from Weapon Enchanter.

He was going to give this to Aoi to initiate the plan to make her his pawn, but this deck had very powerful synergy with the Ananta Sunborn Forge card from his Unique deck.

[ Weapon Enchanter ]

Rank: Uncommon

Draw: 15 Mana per star quality of the card

Epiphany: 0

1. Weapon Damage Enchant | 2-star

2. Elemental Sigil Enchant | 3-star

3. Durability Restore Enchant | 2-star

4. Weapon Overdrive | 3-star

Weapon Damage Enchant directly boosted the overall attack of the targeted weapon by fifty percent.

Elemental Sigil Enchant had the option to give one of five elemental boosts to a weapon to deal extra damage. The options were Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Lightning.

Durability Restore Enchant was straightforward, and it saved money as he wouldn't need to pay gold to restore weapon durability.

And lastly, the ultimate card of this deck, Weapon Overdrive, which would give a one-minute death sentence to a weapon. During that one minute, the weapon's overall attack and any attack made through it would be boosted by two hundred percent. After one minute, the weapon would be gone forever.

This deck usually synergized well with other decks that could generate throwing weapons and other weapons, so despite being an Uncommon deck, it was very useful and could be used to create powerful combat builds, especially once those four cards evolved through Epiphany.

Even if multiple people had the same deck, they usually end up with different ones from each other once their cards are evolved, unless they followed the exact same procedure of catalyzing an idea and using the same resources to evolve the cards. People sold recipes they found to create cards or evolve cards at high prices.

Axir planned to evolve the Weapon Enchanter deck with some great ideas he had that also required hard-to-get resources, adding one more task to his to-do list.

But for now, it was enough to kill monsters at this level and even level 100 monsters.

With his Roaring Impact Bat boosted by Elemental Sigil Flame and Weapon Damage Enchant, he was ready.

Transforming back into human form, Axir activated Self-Domain: Librated Drift, arriving right next to the tiger as its eyes opened.

BOOM!

He smacked it before it could do anything.

The tiger was flung away like a bullet and crashed into the wall, taking minor damage and becoming staggered.

'Awesome!'

Usually, it required much more power to fling away these big and strong monsters!

Axir didn't give it a chance to stand up.

He arrived in front of it and smacked it again as it was flung away like a ragdoll and crashed into the inner wall of the cave, stunned.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

After eighteen consecutive smacks within seven seconds, it was eliminated as it turned into motes, leaving behind some materials, including one Tier-5 Legendary item.

It couldn't fight back even for a single moment during those seven seconds. That was the power of the Roaring Impact Bat.

[ You have killed a level 50 Elite Shrillbuck Thunder Tiger. +50 Gold. ]

[ You have reached level 38 and acquired 5 stat points. ]

'Elite monsters really do give a lot of EXP.'

Leveling was already showing its grind, as despite killing a level 50 elite monster, he only leveled up once, even with over a ten-level difference.

Because after reaching level 30, leveling slowed and no longer gave EXP boosts when killing monsters with a ten-level difference. Instead, players would only gain EXP boosts when killing monsters with a level difference of twenty or above.

He reached level 30 from level 20 quickly in the first five minutes, but it took over half an hour to reach level 38, and it was only going to get slower.

But Axir wasn't in a rush to level up quickly. It was better to become powerful in subtle ways, like building connections with forces in this world, acquiring information, gathering rare items, and remaining a step ahead, because leveling was the easy part.

Axir quickly checked all four caves and acquired the Mimic Chest as well, rubbing it five times and obtaining a new Rare deck.

'Perfect.'

[ You have reached the playtime limit of twelve hours for the day. You will be logged out within three seconds. ]

Before three seconds were up, Axir quickly sent a message to his Aunt Kira to log out and meet him outside.

He was going to give her the location of another Mystery Chest, which was actually a Mimic chest, so she could open it and acquire a Rare-rank deck.
