'How did I even get here?' that's what Amabel was asking herself as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, an hour after leaving the hospital.
Through the mirror, she saw a beautiful young woman wearing a pink asymmetrical skirt which hugged her tiny waist and accentuated her natural hips.
The skirt was paired with a beautiful yellow halter blouse which was tucked in to add more flavor and boldness. On her head was a typical veiled fascinator which made her look very mysterious.
She had no idea that she could end up looking like that simply because of an encounter which shouldn't have meant much until that call entered.
Amabel was stunned as she looked at her own reflection. That statement was truly true. clothes surely maketh a man.
She looked stunning. If Valentine were to see her, he would be enthralled, right?
Not just Valentine but the three ladies looking at her were going crazy.
Beatrix had developed a bad habit ever since the moment she took photos for Amabel wearing that racy lingerie. The moment that Amabel stepped out of the changing room, her phone was ready. She had already changed into her own outfit and curious about how Amabel would look after wearing the outfit picked personally by the woman, they entered the elevator with and encountered at the hospital, her phone was ready.
Amabel had this delicateness about her. Moreover, she was a beauty in her own rights with the right curves and flesh in place. no wonder why she was the school beau. It wasn't just all talk.
Beatrix happily took photos from all angles while the owner of this private boutique wore a satisfied smile as her mind geared and plot a plan, she was sure would satisfy everyone.
"Yue-Yue, you look ravishing!" Beatrix couldn't help herself but praise, her tone tinged with teasing which brought Amabel out of her reverie and cast a shy glance at Beatrix who truly didn't spare a second to ease others.
However, this time, she agreed with Beatrix. When she first saw herself, she was truly stunned. She liked what she was seeing and wanted to wear it more.
"Now, you are all set! How about we make a move? We will be late for the party and that would put us in a difficult position," the boutique's owner, Daphne said as she looked at the two friends.
Upon hearing that, Beatrix and Amabel didn't object but readily agreed, anxiety slowly creeping in.
It would be quite a scene if they were to be late. With that in mind, they quickly freshened up before rushing outside where they all boarded their respective cars and drove towards the destination.
As she drove, following Beatrix's car, Amabel couldn't help but chuckle as she recalled to how an hour ago, she was stuck in a dilemma when that mature woman suddenly came to their rescue.
Her name is Daphne and happen to be visiting a relative at the hospital. When she heard their conversation, at first, she didn't want to interfere but then when the matter escalated to the matter of dressing, she couldn't help but do so. After all, she happens to own a niche brand which caters to the ladies. Above all, she was also attending the same tea party.
So why not lend a hand?
That's what landed them in this very moment and Amabel couldn't help but feel amazed at how fate works.
They just encountered each other at the hospital and in just an hour, they have become acquainted. It remained her of the time she befriended Beatrix. It seems that things were just working in mysterious ways she couldn't comprehend but she was liking every second of it.
----****----
Meanwhile, in Daphne's car, she was driving and chatting on the phone with her friend who was worried about where she was since the party was about to start.
[Is there something wrong with your brother? Are you no longer coming?]
She chuckled lightly upon hearing that and felt that her friend was overthinking. How could her brother be serious when he was just enjoying the VIP hospital services? If he wasn't her brother, she wouldn't mind dragging him out of that room and send him home. But alas, who made him her brother?
"Hehe, he is getting better. I am already on my way. I should arrive in a while," nonetheless, she didn't expose her brother's antics but gave an estimate of how long it would take until she arrives.
[That's good. It's quite boring without you here!] her friend complained and Daphne laughed heartily after hearing that.
[You are laughing?] her friend grumbled and Daphne chuckled lightly before starting coaxing.
"How can I laugh? Hehe, I am just thinking about how you won't be bored after meeting the two I am coming with there," and talked about Beatrix and Amabel.
[Oh! You are coming with guests. Where did you find them?]
Daphne then went on to share how she met the two friends and when her friend heard that couldn't help but voice her concerns.
[Are you sure that they didn't stage all that? What if they knew that you were coming over?]
Daphne rolled her eyes when she heard that and let out a helplessly sigh before responding to her friend, "darling, it's not everyone with schemes. Besides, you should know the other guest. You know Chairman Kemble? The one in construction and married a young wife a few years ago which caused quite a stir."
[How can I not know him? He caused so much noise. Is he still married to her?] there was disdain in her friend's voice and Daphne knew that there was going to be trouble already but she still answered.
"They are still married and going strong," she responded truthfully.
In fact, among all the older men she had seen marrying the young wives, Mr. Kemble was one of the most faithful one. in fact, she followed their love story and found it quite entertaining.
After spending time with the young wife, she now understood why the older man was so relentless and ignored the objections of others to marry her. He really caught a treasure there and she wasn't as bad as people made her to be.
[Oh! Really? Don't tell me that you are bringing the young wife?]
"Hehe, let's just say that fate brought us together. Anyway, she has been invited by someone over there. She ain't that bad."
[Huh, how can she be good? if she was so shameless to marry a man who is twice her age and with children her age, she can't be anything good,] her friend retorted and her strong refusal to accept couldn't be hidden. [You said there are two. Don't tell me that she is bringing a friend with the same values as her?]
Daphne didn't know how to respond to that this time. After all, from the small conversation she overheard, those two were supposed to be shopping for some sexy lingerie. they were busy thinking about men but which woman wasn't?
"Philippa, stop being prejudiced. Anyway, they aren't there for you. If you don't like them, then just pretend like they don't exist," she solemnly reprimanded her friend, seeing how sour her tone was becoming.
She was Philippa's friend and understand why her friend was like but judging everyone just because it wasn't going well on your side, that was too much.
Philippa grunted and didn't seem happy but Daphne knew that Philippa wouldn't say something unpleasant again, at least for a while.
Not wanting her friend to continue thinking about sad matter, she swiftly changed the topic and with someone to chat with, the journey was smoother.
It wasn't long before she drove into the majestic gates.
Finally, there were here!
