Dawn has arrived. The demon is dead. Raye sat down, injured. Al quickly heal up Raye then Will and they resume their journey to the next town.
Al:"That demon, recognized us, and it have a master,"
Will:" Some demons have master, though they are weak,"
"Something nice coming from someone with experiences, the fact that we almost die!"
Al sarcastically said that.
Raye:"Relax guys, I bet we will face even tougher opponents in the future,"
Al:"As if that is gonna assure me!"
About 3 hours later, they have finally reached the last town before the borderline. They decided to get some rest since they didn't get any sleep last night. They won't stay for long, they would leave the last town and head to the borderline at noon.
They decided to have breakfast at a local restaurant of that town. Inside the restaurant was bustling. Noises coming from each direction. I guess the business here is blooming. Raye and the party quickly settled down and ordered their meal. They ordered chops thinking it would be good but it wasn't anything significant.
Al:"Thought food here is good, what a total letdown,"
Raye:"And its expensive,"
Will:"Previous town have better food than this,"
Will:"By the way, since we defeated a demon, don't you think we would get a reward from the guild like last time,"
Raye:" You're right, but we need proof or else we could be accused of lying,"
Al:"I think I got something,"
Al then pulled out a small piece of horn from his satchel. It was broken and have it looked like it was cut.
Raye:" When did you get that?"
Al:" When you slashed his right arm, I think you also cut of a small part of its horn,"
Will:"I guess this is all the proof we had, we would have the whole demon if Raye didn't obliterate the demon,"
Raye:"It doesn't seem to die, what else should I do?"
Al:"I guess we should just hope that they got the news of a demon near the previous town and it's dead,"
Raye:" Lets hope,"
They then finished their meal and headed for the guild. When they entered the guild, they hear muttering between people, talking about that demon.
"Great, I guess they know about the demon, now just hoped we get our reward,"
Al whispered into Raye's ear, not wanting to spoil it to everyone in the guild. Raye then walked up to the counter and show the horn to the guild receptionist and told her about the demon.
Raye:"We uh want to inform you that a demon nearby the previous town got defeated by us and this horn is a proof,"
Will:"He obliterated the demon,"
The receptionist was stunt. Everyone in the guild was also stunt. They all started whispering among themselves. A few seconds later, the receptionist then pull out 25 gold Aaron coins and give it to Raye. Raye was surprised by the amount of the money.
"Congratulations on your victory, here's the reward, but I warned you to be careful, there is rumors speculating that the demon you just killed belonged to one of the warlocks of calamity, look out for yourself,"
The receptionist seems to be scared. As they leave the guild, they received stares from people. Soon, everyone in that town knows about the event. They couldn't get their essential needs for the dune without receiving glare.
Raye:"Lets leave,"
Al:"Aren't we going to take a break until noon?"
Raye:"We're leaving,"
Raye isn't feeling anything right now. Not happy, not sad, worried. He then smiled to the town folks and left. Al looked at the face of the people around and realized why. The looks of the people seems to be scared. They are afraid. afraid of Raye? No. They, are afraid of the Warlock. They afraid that Raye and the party would bring the warlock to their town since they are there. Raye, not wanting to worried the people, urges the party to leave and head for the borderline.
They finally left the last town, just another hour, they should be able to reach the borderline. As they walked, Raye spoke.
"Honestly, when we fight that demon, I was scared to death, I may be the hero, the brave, but facing tough opponent as that demon, I never thought I lived,"
"But we survive since we have each other,"
"Well- I mean you are right, without each other we would have die, except for Will of course,"
"Raye,"
Will then spoke.
"Have pride in yourself, you defeated the demon with an attack you usually use,"
"With your help,"
"We are a team Raye, we grow to be stronger, to save,"
"I'm going to leave the battle to you guys at the future,"
"WHAT?!"
Al and Raye were shocked. Without Will, They wouldn't have get past even that beast which they got 20 gold coins from. Or so they thought.
Will:" you guys are dependent on me, is like without me, you will lose every battle, you got to have a bit of pride in yourself, respective pride, acknowledge that YOU are the one that defeated the demon, the beast,"
Raye:"You're right, I did defeated the demon, with you guys help, without Will to distract the demon, without Al to heal and use buff spell on me, I wouldn't have defeated that demon before dawn,"
Will smiled at both of them.
Will:"I will be supporting you, we will be famous, show the world who we are,"
They all laughed and finally reached the borderline.
A crowd gathered at the borderline between the Kingdom of Aaron and the dune. There seems to be a commotion.
"Stand back, we are trying to investigate,"
One of the guard working at the borderline told the crowd.
Raye and the party squeeze in and saw what they are talking about. There is a hero party that got killed just at the dune. They aren't murdered, there was no sign of injury. They were killed by a beast, that's what the guards have concluded with. They said that the victims have been killed by dehydration through magic for the victims had brought water with them. It would be reasonable to drink water when you are dehydrated. There have been sight of beast capable to use magic like that.
30 minutes later, the guards finally allowed the crowd to enter the dune. As Raye and the party enter, they were stop by the guards.
Al:"Hey, let us through,"
"Are you guys by chance the hero party that defeated a beast and a demon rumored to be under a warlock of calamity?"
Raye:"Yes,"
"Alright, I hope you can cooperate with us. We wish that the beast that we concluded of the murder scene you saw earlier to be killed,"
Raye:"What?"
"I know it's a hard job to be done but we wished that you are able to do so,"
Will:"I guess we have no choice but to accept it,"
Al:"Huh? Wait, didn't you hear what the guard said, they said the beast is able to use magic that can dehydrate a human, guessing by the victims died through dehydration, the beast is able to dehydrate us INSTANTLY!"
Will:"We got you don't we? Al, you are a priest, you are able to use buff spell on Raye, you probably able to use some immune magic,"
Al:"Damn it,"
"Thank you for cooperating with us, we have just received from our radar that a beast is near the borderline in the dune, we hoped that you are able to kill that beast, if you do, all reward is yours, we won't ask for anything,"
Al:"Fine, we are doing it, Damn,"
Raye:"Alright, we will help you, give us order and we will act,"
"We thank you once again, alright, please head to the dune and go N 20° W, just 130 feet and you should be able to reach, that's where our reading is,"
The party did as they said. They get dressed into their clothes suitable for the dune that they just bought yesterday. They then kept their usual clothe inside Will's shadow while no one is looking.
After weeks of walks, they have finally enter the dune. The dune is so hot that you could catch a heatstroke by just walking. This clothe that is suitable for the dune must have magic in it keeping them cool. They have finally reach the location. There is no sign of beast anywhere. The guards said that the beast could be hiding underground.
Al:"Alright, I have a spell that protect you from any condition, but I didn't mastered it yet, so it only lasted for 5 seconds,"
Will:"Can't believe a teacher who hadn't mastered a single spell,"
Al:"I mastered other spell, just not this alright!"
Al:"I will cast the spell once the beast emerged underground,"
The ground suddenly shake just as Al finished his sentence.
Raye:"Get ready,"
The beast then emerged from the ground. It look like an earthworm but gigantic and can probably eat anything in its way.
Al:"protection spell 3!"
The party got protected. Plants around the beast got dried up instantly.
Al:'It's only for 5 seconds, QUICK!"
Raye then gripped his sword tightly and dashed around the beast. HE then made deep cuts around the beast, making it screeched. It then slides toward Raye but got killed by Will with a barrage of huge fire arrow so many that it could end a kingdom. Will then spat a small pool of blood. The beast is dead within 5 seconds.
Al:"Damn my heart is beating fast,"
Raye:"We did it,"
Will:"..."
Al then heal Will as the guards walk toward them.
"Well done, you guys did it, we will inform guilds in the dune about this event and you can claim your reward,"
Al:"Damn right!"
"You guys can continue your journey now, once again, thank you for your cooperation,"
