Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Marriage and Love

Chapter 14 Marriage and Love

"Set is teaching me how to become a god."

When asked by Anubis, Araha gave a casual answer.

Clearly, Anubis did not believe it.

After Aroha was born, he was considered by the gods of the world to have no strong will and to be extremely lazy in his divine duties. How could he possibly have discussed the path of the chief god with Seth for five consecutive years?

It is important to understand that for an ordinary deity to become a chief god, the first step is to obtain a divine office, and the second step is to form their own authority through the divine office and divine power, so as to enhance their divine power in a unique way.

To date, although Araha has authority, he has not even created his own "law of rebirth".

In this situation, a deity would never be able to reach the point of becoming a supreme god—by uniting their own laws and divine power, undergoing a clash of laws, and forming a divine realm.

Aroha didn't explain much. He was born with a special divine realm, but for some reason, he was born not as a chief god, but as an ordinary deity.

Anubis, convinced that Aroha was not telling the truth and unable to press him for an answer, could only say, "Aroha, you have made a covenant with my mother Isis to resurrect my father Osiris."

"Although this agreement is kept secret, it is still subject to Ms. Matt's control. If it is breached, the ruler will surely punish the gods."

"Don't worry, since I promised to help Hades be reborn, I will definitely do it."

Lady Matt is the goddess who symbolizes truth, justice, and order.

She and her husband, Thoth, the god of wisdom, were both children of Ra, the sun god.

However, these two were born to the sun god Ra during his last old age and rebirth, when he became the sun god Atum.

Like Shu, the god of air, and Tefnut, the god of rain, who were born from the sun god Ra, they were also born ruling deities.

The gods were quite afraid of these two later-born ruling deities, and some even speculated that the system they represented might be an alternative to the sun god Ra.

If the Nine Gods system is insufficient to bear the heavy responsibility of Ra, then they will bring a completely new system to replace the Nine Gods system.

"It's good that you understand."

After reminding Aroha, Anubis left the temple of the god of miracles.

However, instead of returning to the underworld, he went to the temple of the goddess of life and told his "mother"—the goddess of life, Isis—about the matter.

Whatever Set intends to do, Anubis believes his mother can handle it.

"I understand, Anubis. I will keep an eye on Seth's affairs. You continue to observe the actions of the god Araha."

The two sons each have their own tasks.

Horus, the Pharaoh's guardian, was sent by Isis to Memphis to build the temple that Aroha needed, a temple comparable to that of the sun god.

As for Anubis, the jackal god, he had been keeping a close eye on Aroha's actions.

After learning about this newly born god's special divine domain and the special scepter in his hand that could pierce through her own divine domain and seemed to be a divine power from beyond the domain, Isis became very interested in him.

Not to mention, he also wanted to become the god-king of Egypt, and even take himself as his personal god.

Isis had very mixed feelings about the intentions that Aroha had once revealed.

She both hoped that Aroha would succeed and break the world's established rules; yet she also feared that Aroha's success would completely destroy her own plans.

After Anubis left, Isis began to investigate the situation of Set, the storm god, her brother whom she had once utterly defeated.

Isis quickly noticed the anomaly.

"The marriage between Seth and Nephthys has unexpectedly taken a turn for the worse?"

As chief deities, each has its own authority.

As long as one does not transcend the status of a supreme god and become the ruler, a supreme god can use the authority he possesses to observe the situation of other supreme gods under the corresponding authority.

Isis is the goddess of life and shares the authority of the goddess of fertility with her sisters. However, Nephthys is mainly associated with birth, while Isis is associated with nurturing.

None of these authorities could see Seth's situation.

However, she also has a divine authority, namely marriage.

Through her authority, Isis clearly saw that a rift had appeared in the marriage between Set and Nephthys.

"Nephthys loved Set so much that she defied Ra's will to protect Set from Ra's punishment."

"Her marriage with Seth has actually developed cracks?"

Isis couldn't understand what had happened between her brothers and sisters.

So she went directly to the temple of her daughter-in-law, Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty.

"Goddess of Life, what brings you to me?"

Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty, found it strange that Isis should be busy with the resurrection of Osiris, the god of the underworld, at this time.

"Hasor, investigate whether there's been a problem in the relationship between Nephthys and Set?"

Upon hearing this, Hathor's beautiful face showed a hint of doubt.

However, she knew that the goddess Isis would never ask her to investigate this matter for no reason; something must have happened.

She was also very curious about this, and she used her authority to immerse herself in the emotional threads of the whole world, including the gods and other living beings.

The emotions of all beings are far more complex than those of marriage.

With the birth of Matt, the number of gods and humans who could simultaneously have several marriages has become very small.

However, gods and humans who simultaneously have several or even dozens of relationships are everywhere.

Her investigation took longer than Isis's.

Isis waited from dawn until dusk, when Hathor finally emerged from her divine realm, looking at Isis with an even stranger gaze.

What went wrong?

"Seth's feelings are still the same as before. He likes you more, but he also likes Nephthys."

"Where is Nephthys?"

Isis's expression remained unchanged upon hearing this, as if she had known about it all along.

"Nephthys, she still loves Seth deeply, but another subtle emotional thread has emerged."

Which deity does it correspond to?

"Not found."

"Didn't find it?"

Isis found it hard to believe. Could it be that Nephthys had fallen for some ruler?

"They are either rulers or gods from beyond the realm, and are not within my jurisdiction."

This answer left Isis puzzled.

The entire world, having been attacked by extraterrestrial gods several times, has long since become a place where extraterrestrial gods come and go, and even reside.

How many extraterrestrial deities are here is probably unknown even to the currently unwell Ra, and he is unwilling to find out.

"It seems I need to keep an eye on Nephthys."

After Isis thanked him and left, Hathor watched her retreating figure and muttered to himself, "So busy, trying to manage everything, what is she really plotting?"

To the world, Isis was a dutiful, even meticulous, and benevolent goddess.

However, in Hathor's eyes, Isis was definitely a goddess with great ambitions.

Hathor didn't know what this ambition was all about; he was just observing it slowly.
