Chapter 3 - New body

Ren: "No!! Wait!!!"

(Ren suddenly sat up.)

A sharp pain tore through his chest as he sucked in a deep breath, as if he had just surfaced after drowning.

Ren: "W-Where… where am I?"

He placed a hand on his chest. His heart was beating.

His eyes scanned the room in panic. It looked nothing like the damp walls of the dungeon.

Ren froze.

Ren: "The Dungeon…"

Memories of pain, cold, his broken body, and his lost child rushed back violently. His breathing hitched. He placed a hand on his stomach.

Flat.

His fingers trembled.

Ren: "My child…So I really lost my child..."

He slid off the bed with a dull thud. His legs couldn't support him and he collapsed onto the floor. The pain was real. He was truly alive.

Ren: "So I wasn't hallucinating… I really did hear a voice."

He began to cry, tears of joy streaming down his face. He raised a hand to wipe them away—

and then froze.

The hand wasn't his.

Ren: "What…?! Whose hand is this? What about this voice?

He placed a hand on his throat.

Even his voice… wasn't his own.

Ren: "No… this isn't possible. A mirror— I need a mirror!"

He lifted his head and saw a mirror hanging on the wall.

Ren struggled to his feet and approached it. When he looked at the reflection, his breath caught.

Ren: "Is that… me? No, it's not possible !"

(He touched his face.)

His skin was smooth, without scars. His body was… intact.

A shiver ran down his spine.

Ren: "What… what happened to me?"

That completely white face, those strangely colored eyes…

This wasn't his body.

Ren covered his mouth to stifle a scream.

And yet… his memories, his pain, everything was still there.

He had truly been reincarnated into another body.

Ren remained frozen in front of the mirror.

Ren: "But why is his skin so white… and so weak?"

Indeed, his skin was extremely pale. His hair was entirely white, without a single shade, fine and silky, falling around his face like fresh snow. His eyebrows and eyelashes were also white, making his gaze even more unsettling. His eyes were slightly violet, tinged with pale pink and gray.

Pale pink lips.

A slender, delicate body—almost fragile.

Ren understood.

This body wasn't just different.

It had been born this way.

Yet he didn't understand why it was so weak. His new body was trembling all over, as if it were starving.

Looking around the room, it was clear this belonged to a child from a wealthy family. Questions began to flood Ren's mind.

Ren: "Could it be… a fallen child? But..."

The decor looked luxurious, but it didn't resemble a castle. All the objects were unfamiliar to him, so he decided to return to the bed to rest.

Ren: "Sigh… what should I do?"

*And this body… it seems quite young. I'd say between eleven and thirteen years old*

Ren found himself in a completely unknown place; he was terrified.

Ren : "Maybe I'm just having a lucid dream, I'll fall back asleep and when I wake up..."

Ren : "And when I wake up...."

*Anyway, it's pointless*

After these last thoughts, he fall asleep again in this unknown place, in an unknown body.
