*Thumb* *Thumb* *Thumb*
A loud heart beating sounded in Wu Teigu's heart, nearly popping out of his body.
His body, enveloped by the green-tinged blood seeping out of the wolf's wounds, caused mainly by the sabres, fell down, unable to hold on any longer.
In his body, a seemingly crisp sound echoed, something he didn't hear. Deep in his body, close to his heart, there was a spark, seemingly dim, but full of crimson-purple power, nurtured his body.
A deep sense of anxiety, fear, but also excitement and relief washed over him.
"Three orphans, three orphans… the village, it can't take care of three orphans…" he kept muttering, his expression anxious as the words of one of the village elders kept repeating in his head.
"Now I have hunted a wolf, I have proven myself!
There is only one orphan!
I have proven myself!
I can live!
I can eat!"
He kept murmuring, but he didn't know that at one point, a light appeared between his brows, only lighting for a second before disappearing.
[Hmm…] a voice sounded in the void, heard by no one [this time, it's a natural awakening?
I get it. So, my talisman awakens after the person awakens their spiritual power, right? This is actually a very easy process: just scan the roots and they are awakened. This is why the other two awoke in just two days, since they were tested by cultivators, while this one only appeared after three weeks.
After three weeks, I nearly thought this talisman wouldn't awaken any longer.
But how does the talisman choose people? How can it be sure they have roots and even awaken them?
Or maybe, it knows they have roots and the people it choses have good fortune, which means they are likely to awaken their roots, it just doesn't know how long it might take…
But hehe, a natural awakening, and there seems to be more!]
As he said this, he scanned the boy's memories, his movements seemingly hastening the fusion of the boy's personality with his.
Slowly, the anxiety and fear were replaced with the calm and indifferent attitude of Fu Xian, who regarded everyone that stood between him and his future as a great enemy!
After looking deeply into Teigu's memories, he realised the situation…
[The Southern Endless Mountains, huh? They are a great landscape in the world!]
Known for their huge range covering the whole southern hemisphere, teeming with beasts, the humans here had a different social structure than on the central region:
They lived in tribes among the mountains, cultivating Gu (poisonous Gu mostly), Witchcraft (Spirits, Sacrifices, Curses) and an older Path no longer part of the mainstream of the central region, Physical Arts!
These tribes, although usually few and far between, and weaker than the beast clans, were extremely strong and every village could fight a small force if it came to it.
But the place where Teigu lived in couldn't even be counted as a tribal village – instead, it was more like a small checkpoint outside the tribe.
Their leader was the only Gu cultivator, they had no other cultivator in their small village.
It was fine if you didn't have Gu or Physical cultivators, but you definitely had to have a Witch, else it wouldn't be a Tribe but merely a single or a gathering of rogue cultivators.
This case was either the former, or the Gu cultivator was simply a member of a tribe, told to establish a stronghold outside.
[Then again, how much can a mortal stronghold achieve? Or maybe this is a talent ground, or has another purpose. In the end, I can only be sure that this tribe is still either of a low-stage or simply non-existent, and its just what it seems like: a single Gu cultivator who opened a village, possibly as a farm to feed his Gu.
After all, although it's said the Southern Tribes mainly cultivate poisonous Gu, which are mostly just poisonous and venomous beasts and insects, after all, the mainstream's popularity doesn't diminish the existence of the side-branches.
Gu are Gu, since you cultivate one kind of Gu, it'll be a lot easier to cultivate the other kind of Gu: demonic Gu!
Hehe, those demon forces, they thought that the righteous forces Beast Taming was good but couldn't imitate them, so they decided to instead cultivate poisonous Gu, the a branch of the beast races but still a distinct race, into their own demonic Gu.
In the end, this is just an attempt and demonic Gu have never become the mainstream in the demon-controlled territories, but that might be because the western region, where most demon cultivators thrived, simply didn't have the natural environment to grow Gu…]
As he kept talking and thinking of the situation, Teigu, who inexplicably listened, seemed to gain new knowledge.
It wasn't direct knowledge, but there were new key points and hints in his memories, as if he had heard something somewhere, influencing his thoughts.
Fu Xian, who saw this, nodded.
Indeed, he had tested this prior with Yiyuan and Ye Fan, and both of them had some reaction, but generally, he couldn't impart key knowledge, only simple things could be passed down this way.
Teigu was in a whole different region, something he hadn't visited, so he was excited and rambled on, which in turn revealed that such common knowledge was rather rare in these tribes.
Or rather, the other two clones grew up in a cultivation family and cultivation city respectively, while this clone grew up in an environment where the only cultivator didn't deign to talk with them, resulting in extreme low common knowledge.
He kept on talking randomly, seemingly wasting time, but actually doing it for a deeper reason:
Next to Teigu's heart, he saw a spiritual inspiration!
Or rather, it was an immature one, not yet born, but he could clearly see its outline!
And the best of all, it was something he had never seen before!
This didn't mean it was unique – in fact, only something like his reincarnation inspiration could be unique, everything else had already been discovered by others.
What he valued was that this inspiration was different from the main-stream inspirations of the central region!
Although he resided on the Azure Cloud Nine Immortals City, which was on the move constantly, in fact, the immortal city didn't leave the central region, only sometimes flying along the border.
This was because the central region's spiritual power was the best!
Second only was the east, then the south, north and finally the west.
The centre was ruled by the righteous forces and had various blessings – the east bordered the endless sea, with many treasures to be found and endless gathering of spiritual power, the south was rich in spiritual herbs, but the pure spiritual power was influenced by the presence of beasts, a part of it transforming into Sunlight and Moonlight, while the west was the worst, there, spiritual power was at 20%, while 40% was Buddhist Dharma and another 40% was Demonic Energy.
In the lower realms, unfortunately, spiritual power could only be used by the mainstream immortal cultivation, while the others had to transform it.
This was because it was a lower grade of spiritual power, not containing the various different elements and forces of the upper realm.
In fact, the known spiritual power consisted mainly of the five elements. Lacking sun- and moonlight, it wasn't the perfect cultivation power for beasts, which is why they had to absorb both spiritual power and specific sun- and moonlight, while the case of buddhists and demons was even worse – their required power stemmed from belief (buddhists) and emotions (demons), something that isn't found in the spiritual power at all!
The little spiritual power of the west was only because it could still benefit the buddhists and demons somewhat, else they would've removed it long ago!
