Chapter 7 - The Devil’s Heart

The Titans believed the war was over.

As Aeralis slowly healed and life began to rise again, the Titans turned away, carrying the fading glow of divine power back into the stars. They did not look back toward the Land of Shadoness.

That was their mistake.

Deep beneath Shadoness—far below ruins older than memory—something stirred.

The Devil's Heart.

It was not a body.It was not a mind.

It was a core of pure corruption, buried long ago when even the Evils feared its hunger. The divine power unleashed by the Titans had sealed the Three Evils… but it had also weakened the ancient prison holding the Heart.

Cracks formed in the ground.

Black veins spread through the land like roots searching for life.

With a slow, dreadful pulse, the Devil's Heart rose from the depths of Shadoness, tearing through stone and shadow. The land screamed as it surfaced, glowing with dark energy that twisted everything it touched.

The Heart needed a host.

And far away, on the recovering planet of Aeralis, a human felt it.

The Chosen Vessel

The human was ordinary.

Not a warrior.Not a ruler.Not a hero.

Just someone who had lost everything during the attack.

As they stood alone beneath a quiet sky, a sharp pain struck their chest. The air grew cold. A shadow formed beneath their feet.

The Devil's Heart answered their grief.

It did not force itself inside. It offered comfort.

Strength.Purpose.A way to never feel powerless again.

The Heart merged silently with the human—no explosion, no scream—only a soft, dark glow that vanished beneath the skin.

The human collapsed…and then slowly stood back up.

Their eyes were the same.

Their voice was the same.

But something ancient now beat where a human heart should be.

Unseen by the Titans

High above the universe, the Titans felt peace for the first time in ages.

They believed the balance was restored. They believed evil was sealed away.

They did not sense the Devil's Heart. They did not see the shadow walking among humans.

And as the possessed human looked toward the stars, a faint smile crossed their face.

"The Evils failed," the whisper inside said."But through you… I will rise."

The greatest danger was no longer a godlike enemy in the sky.

It was evil living inside humanity itself.
