A mere kaioshin sword—how could I fail to pull it out?
Gohan thought, brimming with confidence.
With his current strength, he was leagues ahead of that other Gohan who never trained and struggled even to reach Super Saiyan 2.
There was no reason that guy could lift it while he couldn't.
If that were the case, what was the point of all his arduous Cultivation?
Might as well give up and rot.
Gohan chuckled. "It's a deal."
Supreme Kai and Kibito were also happily enjoying their food.
Their private calculations clinked like abacus beads.
After a while Supreme Kai asked, "So, Mr. Gohan, when do you intend to draw the kaioshin sword?"
Why are these two in such a hurry? Gohan found their eagerness amusing. "In a bit."
He added, "Lord Kai, besides the kaioshin sword, do you have any other blades? My little brother really wants a sword too."
Supreme Kai recalled Trunks and said, "Of course. I have another sword called the sword of courage; it grants its wielder great confidence and bravery, a truly rare weapon—he'll love it."
As he spoke, Supreme Kai opened his right hand and a longsword appeared.
"Here." He handed it to Gohan.
Gohan took the blade and, with a clang, drew it from its scabbard.
"Fine steel—truly fine steel!"
The edge was razor-sharp, shimmering coldly; Gohan liked it at first glance, and he figured Trunks would too.
Although he'd asked North Kai for a sword earlier, he still hadn't received it.
Besides, anything Supreme Kai produced was bound to be more Advanced than anything North Kai offered, right?
No point waiting around for that one.
"Shring!" The blade slid back into its sheath.
Gohan smiled. "Thank you, Lord Supreme Kai."
He then stowed the sword of courage away.
Moments later Supreme Kai handed him a huge chunk of kaiwaren that weighed several tons.
Gohan asked Supreme Kai and Kibito to wait in the dessert shop while he took the blade and the metal to Bulma—When Bulma saw him lugging the huge slab inside, she asked curiously,
"Gohan, what's that?"
Gohan answered truthfully, "Something I got from Supreme Kai—supposedly the hardest metal in the Universe."
He set the kaiwaren down in the yard.
The ground sank deeply under its weight, leaving Bulma wide-eyed.
"The hardest metal?"
Bulma stepped up and tapped it; the impact sent a sharp pain through her hand.
"Ow!" she hissed. "I've never seen Materials like this; Earth shouldn't have anything like it."
Gohan said, "Not only is it hard, its density is extreme—a fist-sized piece weighs five or six hundred pounds."
Bulma's eyes sparkled with the thrill of discovery.
Novelty always piqued her interest.
Inside, Gohan placed the longsword on the table and said,
"Aunt Bulma, where's Trunks? This sword is for him."
Unable to curb her curiosity, Bulma tried to lift the sword, but no matter how she strained, the sword of courage didn't budge.
Panting, she said, "Trunks went to help out in East City."
"East City? What's he doing there?" Gohan asked, puzzled.
Bulma explained, "Videl called earlier—some nasty incident in a town near East City. She's in over her head and wanted your help."
"But you had guests, so I sent Trunks instead."
Gohan: …Since when do all of you have each other's numbers? Why don't I? Oh right, I don't have a cellphone—never mind.
"A case Videl can't handle? What happened?" Gohan frowned.
Among ordinary Mortals, Videl's fighting strength is already top-tier.
If even she can't deal with it, are aliens stirring up trouble again?
Bulma said, "They say the Mayor's daughter was kidnapped by a hundred-metre-tall gorilla. It's perched on a rooftop holding the girl, facing off against the kingdom's forces."
Gohan: …Why does this plot sound familiar? Filming a King Kong rip-off?
Gohan rolled his eyes. "Since Trunks is on the scene, that little ape won't cause any waves."
"Aunt Bulma, please give him this sword. I'm heading to Supreme Kais Planet with Supreme Kai now."
Bulma blinked. "Supreme Kais Planet? When will you be back?"
"A day at shortest, two or three at most—very quick."
"All right then."
So Gohan caught a ride with Kibito straight to the Kaioshin Realm.
Thus he became the first Mortal to set foot on the Holy Land of the Kaioshin Realm in tens of millions of years.
In the Kaioshin Realm the sky was an immaculate blue, Spirit Qi rich beyond measure, the very breeze laden with Spiritual Qi.
Gohan felt every pore open wide, greedily drinking in the crisp air.
With Qi this dense, even an ordinary Mortal living here would gain longevity; for a Cultivator, training here would yield twice the result with half the effort.
Truly a divine Holy Land… Meanwhile, in a certain town near East City,
a hundred-metre gorilla squatted on a skyscraper, clutching a little girl and glaring murderously at the helicopters swarming like flies.
To the beast, those choppers were nothing but buzzing pests.
Hmph!
What's the big deal?
He'd taken a liking to a human girl and wanted her as his wife—what was wrong with that?
Hadn't they always preached freedom of love?
Humans were so backward—driving a gorilla mad.
He couldn't understand—simply couldn't.
The girl in his paw looked about thirteen or fourteen, with shoulder-length black hair and big sparkling eyes—quite the beauty.
Tears streamed down her face, yet she still tried to reason with the ape.
"Sniff… Big gorilla, please let me go, okay? Look how different our sizes are—we're totally unsuitable. I beg you."
The gorilla spoke human words, his fetid breath almost knocking the girl out.
"No, no! My dad said to bravely chase true love. I won't give up. I fell for you at first sight; I want you as my wife and I'll cherish you. I get it—you're testing me, right?"
"Ugh… isn't it possible your dad meant for you to chase a female gorilla? I'm human. We're different species—how could we be together? Let me go; we have no future."
Though young, the girl spoke clearly, her calm logic unbroken despite her sobs.
But the gorilla shook his head. "My dad also said true love can cross age and species. I believe you'll be moved one day."
The girl rolled her eyes, silently cursing the stupid ape.
Out loud she said, "Y-you're so big and I'm so small… we can't have babies."
"Huh? Why not? You're lying!" the gorilla exclaimed.
"Why would I lie to you…""
