The screaming didn't stop.
I slowly turned around, the air was beginning to feel heavy with each moment passing.
Behind me I saw nothing, the room was empty, but the screaming continued.
I turned to see the girl, missing.
There was a blood stain on the bed where she lay.
*Drip*
Blood drops fell from the ceiling.
I looked above, it was her.
Grabbed by the neck.
A 'thing.
Four limbs.
Two eyes.
Long teeth, almost vampiric in nature.
"Ah shit."
I said to myself.
The creature dropped the girl, opening its horrendous mouth to scream at me.
I swung at the ceiling, almost instinctively.
"Ah!"
My hand was bitten off in an instant.
On the ground it laid, with my only weapon.
I grabbed it , rushing towards the door.
The thing jumped onto the floor , also rushing towards the door.
*Slam!*
I closed it in time and ran.
I ran and ran and ran until I reached the end of the hallway.
"Study"
A giant door stood infront of me.
I looked back for a second, the door I closed was melting.
I didn't want to wait, I opened the door infront and went inside, putting chairs , tables , books whatever I could find to make sure the the door remained closed.
Finally I could breathe for a second.
What was that creature I wondered to myself.
I looked around my surroundings.
It was a well decorated room, quite rich in asthetics.
In the middle there was a giant table.
On it was kept a book title
"Truth"
It was a religious book, dealing with the Great One not the Old One.
"It was my father's. He's that vampiric spider you just had to deal with."
A voice called from the corner of the room.
It was the girl.
The one who I assumed had died.
"I am Elisa. The current head of this house and last of the Nobles that still have their status. What's your name undead?"
"I don't know... But that doesn't matter how are you alive? You are not an undead like me. You are alive. Fully alive." I asked at the astonishing sight infront of me.
" Peculiar, you don't know your own name... Well to answer your question I am a human, I was granted divine protection from the madness by our loving God. No matter what happens I won't die at the hands of a 'mad' being."
" I see...that's quite the power you possess. But it's a curse in your case. You come back only to be killed again and again."
"It is a curse but I have come to enjoy death. It's quite a pleasurable feeling, losing your senses, losing blood , knowing it's the end and then waking up with a fully intact body.
Though I must say I am running out of clothing to wear. It's quite cold too."
I offered her my jacket which she gladly took to hide her naked body.
"So now what? Can that thing enter this room?"
I asked Elisa.
"No , it cannot. I cast an enchanted on that door. Anything with malevolent intent will be burned to ashes if it tries to enter this room."
"I see..."
I looked around.
My hand was still bleeding uncontrollably.
I tied a piece of cloth around the wound, applying pressure on it.
Looking around there were quite a few books in that room, but alas there were no other doors or windows to escape out of.
The one window that did exist was so unbelievably small you couldn't even fit your head through it.
"Undead, are you a warrior?"
Elisa asked out of nowhere.
"I am. Or I would like to believe that I am."
I answered.
"Hmm... I have a job for you. Kill my father, if you do I'll grant you the title of a noble and I'll even teach you enchantment. "
I didn't answer for a bit.
I thought about the request.
I could very easily deny it, after all if I wanted to escape I could just die. I will comeback to life elsewhere, safely.
But I also wanted to learn enchanting.
It was a useful skill.
"Do you think an undead can learn enchanting?"
" Ofcourse it can't. No one who's dead can enchant , enchantment is the process of life infusion undead don't have life in them to enchant, but you are different. You have a beating heart, a warm body and a flicker of life in you. You can enchant if you have a proper teacher."
She answered. Her eyes were glowing red in the darkness of the room.
Looking at her smell, it was green. Pure green. There was no hint of lies in her words.
"I'll do it. Even if it kills me."
If I could enchant maybe I could fight the four knights...maybe.
She chuckled.
Her red eyes pierced my soul in an instant.
I could feel that something was in me. Searching for something.
"Ah you aren't lying. "
She replied smiling.
" I am not." I said.
I walked towards the door , grabbing a small knife.
