"Where exactly did you find him?"
Wu Changkong took a deep breath, unable to stop himself from asking again.
"Xiao Yan and I found him passed out near the gates of East Sea Park, so we brought him back," Xie Xie answered calmly, meeting Wu Changkong's piercing, puzzled gaze without flinching. Naturally, he omitted the part where Tang Wulin had been possessed by a God King's divine sense.
"This is..."
Wu Changkong nodded in a heavy silence. This was easily one of the most bizarre situations he had encountered in his years of teaching.
"He's in your hands now, Teacher Wu. We'll be heading out."
The pair didn't linger. As they walked away, Wu Changkong looked down at Tang Wulin on the sofa. The boy's vitals were perfect—his breathing was steady, and he bore no physical injuries. Yet, he was in a coma so deep it defied medical logic.
"This child, Wulin... he truly isn't simple," Wu Changkong murmured, shaking his head. He forced himself to stop overthinking and began checking the boy's pulse again.
"Brother Xie Xie, why was Tang Wulin just lying there? And..." Xu Xiaoyan paused as they walked off campus, her voice dropping to a whisper. "When he approached us, he felt... terrifying."
The image of the bloodshot eyes and the cold, predatory aura that had briefly inhabited Tang Wulin had genuinely frightened her. It was as if a viper had been coiled inside the boy, ready to strike at them.
"Maybe... he was possessed," Xie Xie sighed. Given that Tang San had literally hijacked the boy's body, "possessed" was a clinically accurate description.
"Possessed? I thought so too!" Xiaoyan chirped, her resilient spirit quickly bouncing back. "But it doesn't matter now. As long as he's okay. Let's go get that braised beef in a clay pot—I've been dreaming about it since lunch!"
Xie Xie smiled, feeling her tighten her grip on his hand. "Let's go."
Meanwhile, in the vast expanse of the Douluo God Realm.
"Regarding the six other God Realms that have appeared, I believe our priority is to unify our strength..."
Tang San had just adjourned a high-level committee meeting. As he walked toward his private quarters with his wife, Xiao Wu, and his son-in-law, Dai Yuhao, he suddenly gasped. A sickening burst of energy shattered deep within his soul.
He felt the divine backup he had left within Tang Wulin—the three full-power strikes designed to safeguard his son—shatter into nothingness.
"My Divine Sense... how could it break?"
Tang San's brows locked together in a tight, worried knot. His divine sense was practically invincible on the Douluo Continent. Unless it had been exhausted and returned naturally, it should not have perished. Had Wulin already encountered a Divine Rank threat?
"Impossible..."
Without a God Realm's blessing, a Divine Rank powerhouse shouldn't be able to manifest on the planet. And even if one existed, why target his son? Not only was Wulin in danger; Tang San's thousand-year grand plan was now facing an unpredictable variable.
"Father-in-law, what's wrong?" Dai Yuhao, the God of Emotion, asked. He had never seen Tang San look so genuinely shaken.
"Something has happened on the Douluo Continent. The safeguard I left on Wulin... it's been destroyed."
"What?!" Dai Yuhao's face turned grave.
"Lingling... has he had an accident?!" Xiao Wu's smile vanished instantly. Her health had been declining due to the stress of separation from her son, and this news hit her like a physical blow.
"Cough—!" She doubled over, coughing up a mouthful of blood.
"Xiao Wu!" Tang San rushed to catch her, pulling her into his arms.
"San-ge, don't mind me... what about Lingling!" she sobbed, her tears soaking his robe.
"Calm down, Xiao Wu," Tang San said, forcing his voice to remain steady. "Though my sense was shattered, the final countermeasure it released must have gravely injured the enemy. And don't forget my parents—my father is the Plane God and my mother is the Plane Spirit. As long as the three of them meet... everything will be fine."
He forced a smile, gazing through the God Realm into the boundless void. He had to believe it. Wulin carried the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. He was destined for greatness.
Back in Donghai City, a luxury villa.
"My Lord. As you suspected, Tang Wulin's identity is extraordinary," Di Tian reported, kneeling before Gu Yue. "He is the son of Tang San. When I acted, a divine energy from the Sea God protected him—its strength was far beyond mine."
"So it really is Tang San," Gu Yue said coldly, her amethyst eyes flashing.
She had guessed as much. Tang Wulin was another "seed" planted by the Sea God, just like Tang Wutong before him. Tang San's plan was obvious: use Wulin as a vessel to siphon the Golden Dragon King's bloodline power through the seals, eventually claiming it for the Tang family.
"Hmph, a clever, disgusting idea," Gu Yue laughed coldly. "Since Tang San left such a safeguard, do not risk appearing before him again. We have plenty of time."
She realized that confronting Tang Wulin was currently too dangerous for her subordinates. The wisest choice was to focus on the other key to her wager with Na'er: Xie Xie. If she could secure him and the Time-Space bloodline, she would achieve supremacy.
"Still, after today, Tang San's divine sense won't let Tang Wulin wander aimlessly—unless he's truly fearless," Gu Yue mused. She turned her gaze toward the window, her mind focused on the boy who had already defeated her once. "Na'er, I'll definitely win this wager. Just watch."
