The Royal Arena was colossal.
A colosseum carved from ancient stone, infused with karma runes older than the Kingdom itself.
Leaders from across the world filled the stands.
Prime ministers.
Guild masters.
Battler Organization chairmen.
Chairman Daku sat beside King Itsuki.
"This boy," Daku said quietly,
"is standing at the edge of something dangerous."
King Itsuki replied calmly,
"Or something necessary."
The announcer's voice thundered.
"WELCOME TO THE ROYAL BATTLER TOURNAMENT!"
The crowd roared.
Kenji stepped into the arena alone.
Black coat.
Calm eyes.
Fire restrained beneath his skin.
Round One.
An S-Rank Battler from Eastern Europe.
The signal rang.
The fight ended in thirty seconds.
Fire erupted—controlled, precise.
The opponent collapsed unconscious.
The crowd gasped.
Round Two.
Another S-Rank.
Then another.
Kenji didn't smile.
He didn't enjoy it.
He advanced like an executioner.
In the stands—
Yumi watched every movement.
Every wound.
Every breath.
Her hands clenched tighter with each match.
"He's… different," she whispered.
Aiko noticed.
"He's walking a line," Aiko said softly.
"And he doesn't know where it ends."
