Final Round.
The air itself felt heavier.
The announcer hesitated before speaking.
"And now…
representing the United States—
IV Rank, Top 10 Battler… ADAM."
The crowd exploded.
A giant of a man stepped forward.
Tall.
Broad.
Aura crushing.
Adam rolled his shoulders.
"So you're the kid," he said casually.
"The one everyone's scared of."
Kenji met his gaze.
"I'm not here to scare anyone."
Adam laughed.
"Good," he said.
"Because I don't hold back."
The bell rang.
The ground shattered.
Adam's body expanded—muscles swelling like steel mountains.
Nan Strong activated.
Kenji was sent flying—crashing into the arena wall.
Blood dripped from his mouth.
The crowd held its breath.
Ryo stood up.
"Tch—this guy's a monster."
Kenji pushed himself up.
Fire flared—but flickered.
I'm exhausted…
Adam charged again.
Each punch felt like a mountain falling.
Kenji blocked—but cracks formed in his guard.
Yumi stood, unable to breathe.
"Kenji… please…"
Adam raised his fist for a finishing blow.
Kenji's eyes darkened.
For a split second—
Something else stirred.
Not Baran.
Not yet.
Just him.
Fire condensed—burning darker.
Adam's eyes widened.
"That aura—!"
Kenji vanished.
The impact echoed like thunder.
Adam was slammed into the ground, arena cracking beneath him.
Kenji stood over him, fist shaking inches from Adam's throat.
The entire arena froze.
Kenji could feel it.
One more hit… and he dies.
The fire screamed for release.
King Itsuki rose halfway from his throne.
Chairman Daku's eyes sharpened.
Yumi covered her mouth.
"Kenji—!"
Kenji closed his eyes.
And stepped back.
"I win," he said hoarsely.
Silence.
Then—
The announcer's voice trembled.
"THE WINNER—
KENJI TAKEMURA!"
The arena erupted.
But Kenji didn't hear it.
He looked at his trembling hands.
I almost crossed it…
High above—
King Itsuki spoke quietly to Daku.
"Prepare the ranking."
Daku nodded.
"IV Rank," he said.
"Top 10… without question."
Far away, unseen—
A man watched through shattered reflections.
Adam… defeated.
Toki smiled slowly.
"So that's you, Kenji," he whispered.
"Good."
His eyes gleamed with hunger.
"I'll enjoy breaking you."
