Battler Season 3
The Royal Court of the Battle Kingdom had never been this silent.
Chains of light bound Ryo's wrists.
Not physical chains—
Karma restraints.
They burned into his skin, suppressing Max Bone completely.
Ryo stood tall anyway.
Across the vast hall, nobles whispered.
"Foreign Battler…"
"Assaulted royal-authorized zone…"
"Threat to order…"
Kenji clenched his fists.
"This is my responsibility," he said, stepping forward.
"If punishment is needed—give it to me."
Royal General Kim's voice echoed coldly.
"The law does not bend for intent."
Chairman Daku watched quietly, eyes sharp.
King Itsuki finally spoke.
"Ryo Takemura," the king said.
"You are accused of excessive force, destruction of royal property, and defiance of command."
Ryo laughed bitterly.
"So killing Evilers is a crime now?"
Gasps spread.
Kenji turned sharply.
"Ryo—!"
But it was too late.
The High Council elder rose.
"By the Law of Kings, punishment is—"
"Death."
The word echoed like thunder.
Aiko's breath caught.
Toya's barrier flared instinctively.
Yumi stood frozen.
Kenji felt something crack inside him.
"This kingdom," he said slowly, voice shaking with suppressed fury,
"uses justice as a weapon."
Royal General Kim's eyes narrowed.
"Careful, boy."
Kenji looked directly at the throne.
"If you execute him," Kenji said,
"you will lose me."
The hall erupted.
A foreign Battler threatening the King?
Unthinkable.
King Itsuki studied Kenji for a long moment.
Then—
"Chairman Daku," the king said.
"Your judgment."
All eyes turned.
Daku stepped forward.
"There is another path," he said calmly.
"A Karma Trial."
The council murmured.
"A trial reserved for nobles…"
"For royalty…"
Daku continued,
"If Ryo survives—he lives.
If not—law is satisfied."
Kenji understood instantly.
A battlefield disguised as mercy.
King Itsuki nodded slowly.
"So be it."
Ryo turned his head slightly.
"Kenji," he said with a crooked grin,
"Don't you dare regret choosing me."
Kenji met his eyes.
"Survive," he said simply.
"That's an order."
